I read that thread on the Recruiting board last night. All I can say is damn...
I hate to see you guys suffer like you're doing.
I always felt Mullen was doing good with what he had to offer. However, I think he fell well short this year in the Auburn game this year. That along with the self-imposed recruiting stuff may be what has everyone done.
Next year certainly looks good - I'd hate to see that opportunity blown because it's suddenly a rebuilding year for a first year coach.
Its tough to be Grinder, so don't let the bastards wear you down.

Yeah, you can't play toe to toe with LSU for a half and then completely fall apart and have 59 posted on you by the end of the game (at home).
Although I will say this for the guy, I don't see him lacking animation or emotion when it comes to coaching during the games. He has almost taken out some big teams on a number of occasions (it would help if he could just get one).

Nit pick...but we actually played toe to toe for 3 quarters.

That's true actually. That's what I mean, they let it slip away so bad in one quarter that I didn't even remember that it was within one score going into the 4th. LSU scored two TDs within the first 45 seconds of the 4th quarter. They have to finish better.

Talking about Hud. I dont care enough to make something like this up. I can def remember state posters saying he had great connections in MS.
uhh, he does. he's recruited Mississippi at his last three coaching stops. i'm not why you think bundy's comment is accurate.

The problem I have with Mullen is that our team seems to be very soft since the beginning of last year. There has been no chip on your shoulder which msu has to bring. Very few kids that come to state passed on offers from Alabama or LSU. They need to have a payback mentality.
Also in the 5 years since Mullen has been here we have not had he step on the throat mentality. We get up by a couple scores and won't put anyone away.
With all that being said we should be better than we are. All this Moo U crap can shove it. Sorry Auburn, Arkansas, and Ole Miss your football programs are not light years ahead of us. I get pissed when Dan yet again chokes away a game to Auburn or Arkansas. I can fathom losing to LSU and Bama right now but the manner in which we are is unacceptable.
The Mullen we have now is not the same that we have had

I said this on tGrind rant. I watched the 2009 LSU game last summer and he was animated...yelling, chest bumping players, jumping up and down, etc. Now he just holds his play sheet in front of his nose and frowns.

Yeah, I watched some of last night's game and UK was one diving tackle away from taking it to the house on 4th and 1 and possibly winning. Before I had tuned into that part, State looked like they were in complete control toward the end of the 1st half. If they would've blown that one, then there would have been some real heat there.
It's going to be a struggle for them to get to a bowl. They could upset SCAR if the wrong SCAR team shows up and the right State team does. Otherwise, it will probably come down to the Egg Bowl.

Ha...look, compared to Les, he's still more animated on the sideline. Then again, Les hasstill won a lot of games...I understand your point.

Mullen does a fine job in my opinion. Short of cheating, I just don't see MSU finishing better than 4th or 5th in the SECW. This isn't Aggie speaking, this is somebody who has lived here for 30+ years and followed MSU and OM closely.
MSU needs to do better at recruiting. Ole Miss is obviously cheating, evidence be damned, and MSU needs to at least keep up with OM. Which leads to: When was the only year MSU played in the SECCG? '98, with "You can't prove it" Jackie Sherrill.
I don't see MSU getting there without cheating, honestly. Small state, nobody wants to go to Starkville, etc. But any MSU fans calling for Mullens to be fired are delusional. He's the best you guys have had at least since Sherrill, and that had its own problems.

Good luck getting back to reality. Auburn won a national title two seasons ago. They're ranked what, #11? Yeah, they're light years ahead of you.
