Dak at this point in his career hasn't built up the capital to challenge his team despite what he may feel. Not saying he feels one way or the other, but his options are limited as are 95% of the players in the NFL.

IDGAF about the subject of the protest. I'm proud to live in a country where they CAN protest.
I've spent time in a couple of communist countries. It's a shitastic existence. Kneeling during the presentation of colors or the anthem would definitely lead to more than message board angst.
Sorry if my post sounded like I support the protests. I support the awesome right to protest

Well it's not like he has a choice. Jerry Jones said you stand for the anthem or else.
Did he really? I thought that was a FB story, like the fake James Harrison story about him threatening his Steeler teammates

I understand your background and your willingness to give Cap and others who do similar things the benefit of the doubt. I just think most Americans realize he did it strictly for himself and used the liberal media to advance it till it backfired on him. If his heart was true then yes, as Americans, we should be proud of his protest. Thomas Jefferson would have been too.

Brazos-I will educate you on the TRUE story of Uncle Tom. Uncle Tom was a slave that was whipped to death for REFUSING to whip other slaves. He stood up for what he believed in against his slave masters. Sambo is the slave that whipped Uncle Tom because his master told him to do it.
When Mark Twain wrote Uncle Toms Cabin the original version shed light on the heroic effort of the slave Uncle Tom. But before publishing the publisher CHANGED the. Narrative to make Uncle Tom out to be a traitor to his own people. Those are the facts. Sambo was the slave that BETRAYED the other slaves, NOT Uncle Tom. Now lets talk football.

Twain wrote Uncle Tom's Cabin? I thought it was Harriet Beecher Stowe.

Not a State fan nor a Cowboys fan. But I am a Dak fan and was before this. He always handled himself with class from what I saw.

Also, having any regard for the US flag is "weird"?
"Flag worship is weird" is what I actually said

That flag represents people being able to have the freedoms we have. That flag represents the men and women who have fought and died for these rights. But it's ok to disrespect that? Using the logic that the flag is just cloth....the Constitution is just a bunch of words.
Exactly.
Folks have the right to say what they want, kneel, protest... whatever.
But condescending attitudes about our country's symbols is shitting on those who have fought and died and WORKED to make our country what it is.

Putting all the joking and rivalry banter aside, I grew up in the Golden Triangle area and had the opportunity to talk with Dak during a 3 hour flight delay out of the GTR airport on my way back to Pennsylvania. I was really impressed with the young man. He is a great athlete with his head on straight. I hope he has another great season in Dallas again this year.
You are quite the creature of opportunity. You grew up in Pennsylvania in another thread, grew up in the same town as Ursinus College in the same thread, grew up several other places too. Would you pick a place where you grew up and stick to it.
My guess is you grew up in Puckett, MS and your name is Tommy.

Nope, they don't. They respect it - or most of us still do anyway.

Dez said the same thing. Good to hear
