I was done pulling for him after watching him laughing up a storm on the bench while we were getting our skulls kicked in.

Starter will more than likely be named by next Monday. Classes start Wednesday, so no practice that day unless something changes. Coaching staff will use that day to evaluate film and more than likely begin making their "final" choice for the forseeable future.

scrimmage video
Was very limited, so evaluation could mean squat, but here is what I saw:

Trotter was quicker and more decisive, but threw a terrible deep ball and some wobbly, but accurate mid range passes.

Moseley, was bigger and threw a better ball, but seemed to react too slowly and have worse footwork than Trotter.

Frazier looks the part of a stud QB, but I don't think he is ready yet. Best arm of the three for sure.

Though they are nice to see when you are hankering for some football, the videos we see do not show much

I look for a tentative depth chart somewhere middle of next week.

No doubt. I was just extrapolating based on tiny bits of video without even knowing the full context. It's all I got to go on right now.

P Marshall has weighed in on the subject. It doesn't even remotely clear anything up but I'll post it anyway.

quote:

No one is saying when the decision will be made on whether junior Barrett Trotter, sophomore Clint Moseley or freshman Kiehl Frazier will be the starting quarterback, but I look for it to come before next week is out. My odds: Trotter 40 percent, Moseley 40 percent, Frazier 20 percent. That represents a better shot for Frazier than I would have imagined possible 10 days ago. …

From the folks I talk to they said Moseley closed the gap and will not go away. Gus apparently likes the size of Moseley, but you can't throw out Kiehl getting his chance as the season progresses.

Our offense requires a qb who can stretch the field with a deep pass. Trotter has a super attitude and would be a great leader, but I want the player with the best talent on the field.

The QB this year will need to be able to stretch the field, but it looks like we will be running a ton of bubble screens and slants with Reed and Bray.

Today Marshall said - based on an AU source who was at the scrimmage:

"If camp lasted another two weeks, Kiehl Frazier would probably be the starting quarterback by the time it was over. Don’t be surprised if they find a role for him to play on a regular basis."

Yep, sounds like my "source" was right in saying Keihl will be the guy sooner than later. You can see it in Gus' body language and face when he talks about Keihl.
