i believe a majority of experts have picked Clemson to win the natty this year.
1. You can believe that but it's not true. From what I've seen about 45% are saying Bama. About 30% Clemson. About 25% others.
2. Even if your statement was true...so?

are you saying Watson didn't pass the ball at Clemson?

Yet Alabama was the preseason no.1 despite returning far fewer starters and major contributors from last year’s teams.
Clemson isn’t Alabama as much as you would like them to be.

Bama's offense didn't do much last year against Clemson
Right. Because Jalen Hurts was the qb and the poor boy, bless his heart, isn't a championship caliber qb, but without Deshaun Watson you guys were easy to beat. That's the point.
If Jalen Hurts can lead a team that beats you that badly, then as noted, Tua Tagovailoa is going to embarrass the hell out of you and Deshaun Watson ain't walking through that door no more.

There are 2 elite football programs in the country. Clemson and Alabama. One has a grumpy old coach and the other has a young dynamic coach. Come see me in 5 years when the number of elite programs is down to 1.

The bottom line is that nothing you've cited succeeds in making your case for Clemson's brand being able to challenge Alabama.

Here's the article I saw. LINK
i didn't actually read it...just saw the headline. lol
it seems like if a lot of 'experts' have confidence that a team can make the playoffs and even win the whole thing, the brand is strong. lol
I think Clemson is gonna end up playing both Bryant and Lawrence a lot and that going to put a lot of pressure on defense given their different styles.

Saban inherited Alabama but has done a good job keeping them near the top every year.
Lol Did you start watching college football in like 2011? Bama was terrible and had a string of bad, bad coaching hires before Saban got there. That program isn't close to resembling anything it looked like before he got there.
Oh boy, that's one of the dumbest statements I've seen on this website, and just maybe in general in my life.

wasn't Alabama on probation prior to Saban? I had thought they had a limited number of scholarships.
I started watching college football in mid 90s and I never had the impression Bama had done much in the past. I'm pretty sure I thought Auburn owned Alabama in football.

You forget Clemson lost a NFL RB, NFL TE, and two NFL WRs off that team. It wasn't just the QB. CLemson's TE made the play of the game on that last drive b/c the pass was off.

It is hard to believe you are a Clemson fan given you are attacking me. It is cool if you want to suckup to Bama on here but don't expect other Clemson fans to do that.
When I was young, I didn't actively research the history of other college football programs. I don't recall thinking of Bama as an elite program until Saban got it going.
You probably didn't even remember or know Bama had lost 7 or 8 in a row to Auburn. lol
