Check the Qb he has recruited for 2017. To discount Dabo is not too smart.
He can recruit and he can hire good coaches.
I think there is a better than 50% chance that he will follow Saban.

Losing record vs. Florida State, never beat South Carolina, and washed out of the NFL.

To be fair, that was back when the old Ball coach had y'all rolling. And plenty of great college QBs washed out in the NFL. As an LSU fan I know all about that one.

And I agree Watson is worlds better, I'm just saying they were trending up while they had a different QB who was farily good. You can't say it's all because of Watson.

If it's interesting personalities you want, Orgeron is great. If it's bringing back LSU to challenge Bama as a near equal, it may have to be someone else.

That Tajh Boyd kid was pretty good. Still pissed about the 2012 Chicken Bowl, myself.

Ol' Tahjy never beat Carolina. Never. We were on a 5 game winning streak before Watson arrived.

The only thing that gives me pause is that Dabo and Kirby would be BIG competitors in recruiting.

What's the justification for this line of thought? Who the frick is then?

I'm kind of in the same boat as the other guy. I admire the challenges Dabo has overcome and you have to be impressed with this current run, but I would have mixed feelings if, say, Saban retired next week and Bama went after him. Winning cures everything, but when the going gets tough, I don't think his goofiness fits in very well in Tuscaloosa. The more I think about it, the more I can see him at LSU. Ideally, the nega-Tigers would then kill his soul after a few average years and he will learn to be a little less douchy, at which point he can come home to Tuscaloosa.

Dabo would fit well in Florida. Has the swagger Meyer did.

Yea, it's much more difficult to beat yal when you actually field a college football team. To even compare the teams Boyd played vs the ones Watson played is the kind of laughable statement only a clueless Gamecock would make. Cullen freaking Harper could have stomped yal's team this year.

Watson is a deity in my book, but to say Boyd wasn't a good college QB is just beyond ignorant. He beat FSU, LSU, Ohio State, UGA, Auburn, Virginia Tech, and many others. He owns countless Clemson and ACC records. Yes he absolutely had his shortcomings, most notably against South Carolina, but the dude would be hands down the best QB in the SEC this year. He was a good college QB.

We need a Dabo. We need someone that isn't afraid to call Nick Saban a short arse bitch then beat his team by 30 and party in the end zone once the 4th quarter is over. And that school needs to be LSU that he goes to.

Well yeah thats the deal with Dabo. Dabo is a true HC in my opinion and thats part of his success. Dabo as a DC or OC would be an epic failure because I am not sure he is an X's and O's guy. What he is great at is hiring strong coordinators, not making wholesale changes in philosophy and recruiting and relating extremely well to his kids on gamedays. He just manages the program and lets his coaches coach and run their unit.

The old saying that some coaches are just meant to be coordinators (and that list is long) works differently for Dabo in that some coaches are just meant to be head coaches. I think Dabo has embraced that and it has paid off. He doesnt project himself as some guru on X's and O's.

Dabo at another school besides Bama would be the best thing for the CONFERENCE.

Unlike some weirdos, I don't wear shirts with SEC on them and didn't graduate from the U of SEC. I'm a Georgia fan, not an SEC fan. And Dabo being at a non-bama SEC school would only make the league that much harder. And as crazy as it may seem, I kinda prefer my school to not have a harder road than necessary. Sooo...I prefer the league staying just as it is, an elite untouchable demigod and then a bunch of regular joes.

Ill admit that I was on the ACC pride thing early. It was easy when it was pulling for Wake, Pitt, NCST. I could not do it for Miami or VT. Screw both of those programs. Richt still owns our asses.
