excluding this year (which was somewhat reminiscent of the BCS era) the sec hasn't exactly been a "murderers row" for the last few years,either. the eastern div., especially.

Interesting. Saban and Bryant are arguably the 2 best coaches ever in college football, and both coach/coached Alabama. Dabo is from Alabama and played at Alabama. Bowden was from Alabama and wanted to coach Alabama till Joab Thomas screwed it up.
