To expand on that. In the last regular season SEC series in 1997 LSU lost 28-2 to Alabama in Tuscaloosa. The next day LSU came back to win 4-3 and win the regular season title outright. Then a month later they beat Bama 13-6 to win the national championship. The 28-2 beating is kind of a fond memory now. Even for me, and I was in Tuscaloosa that weekend.
