Cignetti avoided massive bidding wars for high-profile recruits, instead utilizing support from billionaire booster Mark Cuban to target experienced, scheme-fit players through the transfer portal.
so he didn’t “buy” bigname players, he bargain shopped guys who weren’t as highly regarded by other schools

again, thats a gift most HCs (Kirb included) dont seem to possess

You guys and this constant need to act like only you play a tough schedule is funny at this point. No SEC team has made the Natty in 3 years yet you act like Saban and Spurrier are still coaching. Your teams are not as good as they use to be so this idea that no other coach could run the gamut is funny. Texas made it to the SEC champ game in year 1 so it ain’t that hard for someone new to run thru the SEC. Y’all made thread after thread about how Texas and OU would take years to “build up” to SEC level and that was a myth. Both are picked in the top 4 for 2026 yet SEC teams who have been there for decades are looking at more 6-6 seasons.

Cignetti would walk a mud hole in Kirby’s fat arse

Is this a serious question?

I’m pretty sure Kirby is done. Maybe like one more SEC title, no more natties.

Mendoza was the #1 or 2 QB in the portal.

They spent $20 million.

Why is it so hard to just admit that Cignetti bought a large percentage of his roster?

He did a great job, but without that $20 million Indiana would have been even worse than Auburn.

he was #4 at best

again, he was the #7 rated QB in the ACC in 2024, and his team went 6-7, and 0-5 against FBS teams that finished above .500

he was nowhere on any preseason
Heisman lists, and wasnt in the top 10 in the NFL draft prior to last season

Cignetti put him on the map, period

They're dead last because they only had 67 players listed and everyone else had 85+

At the end of the day 65% of Indiana’s roster were transfers and they spent $20 million to get them.

Your inability to drop this makes me think you are chicken or his brother.

What do you think the difference in pay was between #1 and #4? Mendoza supposedly made $4 million.
