I'm not buying the Ole Miss & Mizzou hype.
Every year the media pushes a few Cinderella stories, but when the dust settles it's always a Blue Blood hoisting the National Champion Trophy.
Especially in this playoff era.
No more silly mythical champions like BYU back in day.

mizzou and ole miss are not cinderella stories. they both were top ten teams last year, return a lot of talent, and added good pieces in the portal. they are being predicted as top ten, playoff caliber teams. i don't think i've seen anybody pick them to win it all

a cinderalla team for this season would be like a team predicted in the 5-7 win range, say like south carolina or oklahoma, going all the way to the championshiop

What's funny is you don't even realize you are the guy crying about Alabama recruiting in a preseason ranking thread.

You're arguing with yourself, then. Neither Ole Miss or Mizzou is projected to win an NC, that would pretty much be the top 2 or 4 teams. Both schools are thought of as a decent shot to make the playoffs, and when compared to all the other teams the informed guess is that they are top 10.
That's it.
It isn't hype.
If it wasn't those two, it would be two other schools. And it wouldn't be hype, just assessment.

What goes on with Notre Dame every year is hype.

Alabama would be higher if they had a real QB.

What you are seeing is old money trying to hold on to pre NIL standards.

No way your AD should survive Napier. That's just stupid on top of foolish.

We could've bought out of the UCF game for only $100k (that's what they paid in 2007 after Urban ran the score up in 06).

Are they?

Arizona lost to Mississippi State last year. They also lost to the only ranked Pac 12 team they faced (#2 Washington). They went 2-1 in their 3 games against 5-4/8-5 Pac 12 unranked teams (their next toughest IC games).

The only real win of note they had was beating OU in the bowl, but in today's setup bowl wins are less telling about how good the teams were in the regular season than they were before.

I honestly think Arizona is likely to have whatever the opposite of a bounce back season is called (a "gravity returns" kind of season).

With a freshman thrown in his first ever start. Lazy analysis is a habit of yours isn't it?

On paper, yes...maybe even nationally, on paper. Yet 3 star filled Michigan beat Alabama.

You just never know...unless you're jesus.
