Both win out, Ole Miss goes to SECG and wins that game. Which team is in the 4 team playoff, does both teams make it or neither?

SEC could very easily get left out if they end up with a two-loss champion.

Brand name and media/NCAA encouragement (wink wink) probably gets Bama in

That would be a big jump for them to get back into the picture. Mid majors like a Memphis would go nuts if they were still undefeated at season's end

Ole Miss goes as the SEC winner easily. Alabama might go, considering they would've knocked out LSU and the heisman winner. They would need 1 or 2 more dominos to fall in place to make it happen.

Sad but true. Ole miss will not make it past LSU so don't worry about the seccg

If a mid major could do a few times in a row like Boise did back in the day, I'd be willing to listen to their whining for a minute. But screw Johnny-come lately with one good season under his belt, unbeaten against a bunch of outside P5 teams, wanting a seat at the grown ups table.

OM is not winning out, but if they did, SEC does not make it in playoffs. Unless the #5 team has 3 losses there is no way you can put a team in who lost to a mid major. Freeze's inconsistency has hurt the SEC's reputation again.

If Bama wins out, they go over a two loss Ole Miss team.

Remember 2011?

Hard to picture Ole Miss getting in with two losses, even if they won the SECCG. If it were another SEC team, like Alabama, Florida, LSU, etc., the chances might be better, but too many good one-loss teams will likely be out there for a two-loss SEC champion to make it, especially now that the SEC's aura of invincibility is gone.

Alabama, with one loss, but having failed to win its own division, and with a head to head loss to Ole Miss, would have a better shot and, actually, I think they would get in. That would sure chap the Rebels' asses.

I think brand name and a 1-loss Bama would probably get them in.

But if OM wins the SEC even with 2 losses they should go to the playoff.

If Memphis were to go undefeated, I think Ole Miss would go over Bama.

laughing here, then LSU and Ole Miss fans would be sided together with a common argument based upon Alabama getting in the NC game in 11.

Damn, that would be like the north and south in the Civil War deciding in the middle of the war to get together and fighting the Mexicans

Think we beat A&M, win a close one next Saturday morning & Auburn, beat Arkansas , lose LSU, crap shoot Egg Bowl.

If Tony Conner can come back and Freeze starts coaching worth a shite, we may have a slight chance.

If it was 2 losses within the conference, I think they get in. (Didn't LSU win their last title with 2 losses by backing their way in by luck?) Considering Ole Siss lost to a mid-major, they probably wouldn't get in.

But, it depends on how Memphis finishes. If they win out, it suddenly doesn't look like such an embarrassing loss.

Personally, I think the SEC champ deserves a spot every year regardless of how much the SEC beats each other up.

What really needs to happen is they need to force the Big-12 to bring back their championship game. Then we can take the champion from every big-5 conference and put them in the play-off. The remaining 3 teams (8 team bracket) could be either from undefeated mid-majors or from power 5 teams ranked highly in the polls. For instance, if an 9-3 SEC east team beats a 12-0 SEC West team in the SEC title game, then the 12-1 SEC West team would still go to the playoff. Same for other conferences.
