Coates

Definitely thought he was a top tier WR based on what I had seen. What was the final story-I guess they weren't getting the ball to him?

He had butter fingers. He did well in 2013 with limited coaching from Craig. After a full year with Craig he regressed big time and only had one good game in 2014, and was pretty invisible the rest of the time. Now after 2 full years with Craig he can't even get on the field in the NFL, even when Pittsburgh had 2 of their top WRs hurt. Craig is a WR killa.

Good luck with him. Glad he won't be coaching the group we just brought in.

Lol I don't get how people are saying he didnt have talent to work with. Thats literally discrediting his recruiting which is his positive trait. Our WRs sucked arse the past 3 seasons. Period. Yea I hate we lost him anyways because of his recruiting, but our WR stats prove that he hasn't taught them shite. They suck at running routes and have butter hands. I mean did anyone watch the past 2 years? Hell, even Duke was dropping passes. Still its a good hire, you guys are gonna have top 5 classes every year he is there though.

That wasn't said because he's a good coach. Nice try though.

Makes sense.

So as a recruiter, does he special in any particular areas geographically? It would sure be nice to reopen that Mobile pipeline that the Saban built and then shut down.

Or better yet, tell me he's gonna tap that Georgia arse for LSU.

Not much you can do with Jeremy Johnson, Sean White and Goober Lashlee.

See what Craig did at FSU for 3 years as QB and WR coach.

No, because losing an elite recruiter and former player to a division rival and getting stuck with Rhett Lashlee sucks.

I'd expect more GA recruits or FL recruits than Alabama probably. He did get a couple recruits from Mobile though the past 2 years.

I love how the Aubies are acting like catching a god damn ball is some kind of acquired skill that's taught by a coach

Can you get better? Yes by putting in time. Coaching has little to nothing to do with catching the ball.

And here come the "he wasn't that great anyway comments"
Kind of like all the "he's great comments" because he left Auburn and because he's at LSU.

Can't get worse than LSUs receiving last year or us. Expectations are low at the moment

Pittsburgh WR talent is probably the best in the NFL overall. Not getting on the field doesn't mean he's bad. Coates always had questionable hands. That's not 100% coaching.

I agree but all of our wrs have questionable hands. So glad we got a wr coach who actually played the position in college. Upgrade.
