So why did all of those coaches leave UTw? I think Phil Knight could buy an NFL team if he wanted to pay football players. I hear Texans claim UTw does not need to recruit but they also think that UTw is the real UT. They can not come to terms with themselves that Texans follows Tennessee lead. So the fact that Kiffen cheated at UTe you would have to believe that Mack had follow at UTw. Texans are bread to follow Tennessee.

Memphis,Your link wasn't to the blog but if it's the one i'm thinking of then I completely agree. If it's the one i'm thinking of it says PP was a Lyles guy and to my knowledge that is completely untrue.PP definitely had some people around his recruitment but Lyles wasn't one unless it was at an extreme distance. The main guy associated with PP on the LSU side of things is a Floridian.Don't be suprised if these guys come back into the forefront with Avery being recruited now.His recruitment could cause LSU a lot of headaches with the NCAA dirty or not. It's just assumed he's been taken care of.

This was a comment I found under the NBC article -

"If TCU is going to be happy…and it is indeed a shocker, it may be Boise St. Why not? Why would anyone voluntarily go to Boise? An SEC school wouldn’t be a shocker and the NCAA would never want to rock the Nike cash boat at Oregon. Maybe Texas had a lot of trouble holding onto assistant coaches for a reason."

I think Kyle Brotzman will make a game-winning FG before Boise gets busted for recruiting violations, but it's definitely a possibility because Idaho isn't exactly known for it's football prospects.

As for Oregon - I think this guy is right. Why would the NCAA want to piss off Phil Knight/Nike who donate an ungodly amount of merchandise to schools every year?

It goes against the 'TCU will be happy' but what about Ohio State? Maybe after the tattoos-for-autographs scandal in Columbus someone started asking more questions and dug a little deeper...

Leave it to a Cal fan to either read an article wrong or spread a lie of a rumor or start it.

Phil Knight has billions at stake. Why would he be involved? Men of power don't do this.....they have people do it for them.

You know something is fishy if Oregon and Nike are basically in bed with each other, with Nike building their facilities, funding their upgrades

There isn't a single thing wrong with donating money to build and upgrade facilities. If you want to talk about payments, if it is Oregon and their is proof, fine but the above statement is retarded.

Phil Knight is an alum, fan and he wants to help his school upgrade the program like so many other doners all over the country. Difference is, he's filthy rich and is well known in the sports world.

When is the college football world and the NCAA gonna be honest and just admit that most schools are pushing the envelope as far as they can when it comes to recruiting? Instead of launching investigation after investigation, maybe it's time to bring it all out in the open and set up ways of regulating it.

Wanna solve the agent problem? How about some sort of solution that allows players and their families to deal with those issues in an open and controlled environment? Maybe NCAA licensed and approved people to help recruits in need of help choosing or finding a college? Surely that would eliminate a lot of the street agent issues.

Sounds like a great idea, everyone could have a nice chat, drink warm tea, and read comic books.

or better yet we could just continue to have agents sneaking around, and people with their hands out, and everyone can continue to believe it goes on everywhere but their school.

It's the SEC, get used to it. Our conference is crooked and a joke, but is prestigious in a monopoly sport for the NCAA, so most things fly. It's unfortunate, but I don't see the NCAA stepping up, and I sure as hell don't see Slive and his office full of tards doing anything for the betterment of the game.

Well that was embarrassing ... that was gonna turn into a gif

But yeah, that's the blog, and I knew about the flordian's around PP, but I think with the fact Avery lived in BR and had some time to play with Collins and Hill that will work even more in our favor.

wow, this is some silly stuff.

a lot of info leaked to the press from the disgruntled coaches. the coaches left because: first, there was a ton of infighting and assistants were revolting against Mack(there's a reason they shite the bed last year); and second, it was clear Mack's ego wouldn't let him step down after a losing season even though he'd agreed a few years ago to leave after 2010 and let Muschamp take over.

UTx really doesn't have to recruit that hard. kids grow up in this state diehard longhorn fans.

Money is the worst currency that ever grew among mankind. This sacks cities, this drives men from their homes, this teaches and corrupts the worthiest minds to turn base deeds.
Sophocles

BYU just torpedoed their run in the tourney by booting a dude for having sex with his girlfriend. My first thought was sheesh how stupid is that but that's only because im a miscreant. People like us are willing to suffer the slings and arrows for a few mins of ticker tape in Jan. I wished it weren't so but the genie isn't going back in the bottle.
