Florida will likely be 3-1 heading to Knoxville as the calender turns to October. Tennessee will probably be coming off two road losses and be 2-2. This game will decide the rest of the season for both teams it looks like.

Florida has LSU, Mizzou, UGA, USC and @FSU left on the schedule after the Vols.

TN has @Ole Miss, Bama @SC and Mizzou left after the Gators.

So that begs the question, if TN were able to end the 9 game Gator win streak in Neyland this fall, how shortly afterward would Muschamp get canned?

He probably won't have to worry about that

Before he made it back to Gainesville.

I actually like UT pretty good, my favorite East team for sure, but there is no reason UGA, SCAR, UF, and Bama shouldn't steamroll them with the depth they lost on both lines of scrimmage.

Probably a night game in Neyland with an obviously very motivated TN team with nothing to lose. Doesn't sound like an automatic win for a team coming off a 4-8 season.

Hell even a top 5 team last season lost to a Vol team worse than this year's edition will be.

But you probably remember that.

He survived a loss to GSU. At this point, I think he could survive the apocalypse.

Each of the worst offensive teams in UF history since Tebow left has put up 30+ on Tennessee in the last 4 years.

UF usually struggles to put up 30+ on FCS schools.

yeah you guys normally play us tough even when you suck

that success doesn't really translate over to a program that you've now lost to 9 straight times, 7 straight by double digits though

We are only worried about how gaudy that 10 in a row banner will look in the swamp. I hope they keep it simple like a Vol fan's mind.

Our Manchurian Candidate is only trained to lose to UGA. He went overboard last year.

but there is no reason UGA, SCAR, UF, and Bama

Our team this year will be better than last years team. There is no doubt in my mind about that. Yes, losing the OL/DL is not great, but we have a servicable Oline, and we actually upgraded in talent and size at Dline (BEFORE YOU SAY IT, yes, i realize young talent doesn;t always pan out). But we beat SCAR last year with an inferior team. We played UGA till the very last second with an inferior team. We pissed away the UF game by having 4 turnovers in the first half (i think if Worley started, we would have probably won, or at least have come a lot closer). And Bama smashed us, but who really expected anything different with a true freshman QB playing on the road vs. #1.

My point is, games are played on the field. There is no reason to count UT out of the East race. Here is a list of Key losses for most east teams:

UGA:
OFFENSE: Aaron Murray-QB, Rantavious Wooten-WR, Rhett McGowan-WR, Arthur Lynch-TE, Kenarious Gates-OT, Dallas Lee-OG, Chris Burnette-OG
DEFENSE: Garrison Smith-NT, Connor Norman-SS, Josh Harvey-Clemons-SS

USCe:
Connor Shaw-QB, Ronald Patrick-OG, Bruce Ellington-WR (NFL)
DEFENSE: Chaz Sutton-DE, Jimmy Legree-CB, Kelcy Quarles-DT (NFL), Jadeveon Clowney-DE (NFL), Victor Hampton-CB (NFL)

UF:
Solomon Patton-WR, Trey Burton-WR, Jonotthan Harrison-C, Jon Halapio-OG, Kyle Koehne-OG, Tyler Murphy-QB, Ian Silberman-OG
DEFENSE: Damien Jacobs-NT, Darrin Kitchens-MLB, Jaylen Watkins-S, Loucheiz Purifoy-CB (NFL), Dominique Easley-DT (NFL), Ronald Powell-SLB (NFL), Marcus Roberson-CB (NFL), Cody Riggs-S (transferring)

MIZZ:
OFFENSE: James Franklin-QB, Marcus Lucas-WR, L'Damian Washington-WR, Eric Waters-TE, Justin Britt-OT, Max Copeland-OG, Henry Josey-TB (NFL)
DEFENSE: Michael Sam-DE, Donovan Bonner-SLB, Andrew Wilson-MLB, E.J. Gaines-CB, Randy Ponder-CB, Matt White-FS, Kony Ealy-DE (NFL)

UT:
can't find the exact info, but we lose all OL, all DL, Raijon Neal, and our K/P (same guy) and return everybody else.

This years east will not be the same as last years east. Any one of UF, UGA, USCe, Mizz, or Tenn could potentially luck their way in with all the attrition.

Last year, how many points were directly related to your defense?

27, 24?
