Sumlin is a fraud. Kingsbury and Johnny earned Sumlin a lot of money.

And yes, Johnny had a lot of behavioral problems, going all the way back to high school. But since he's been diagnosed and medicated for bipolar disprder, all the other problems seem to have gone by the wayside. The drinking, the drugs, the police encounters, all stopped when he got medicated.

Sadly, it also became clear that his manic episodes drove a lot of his freewheeling football ability on the field. Level-headed Johnny just can't improvise and sling it like manic Johnny could. Hope he can keep his disorder under control and find a new direction in life now that football is behind him.

This can't be said enough.

Sumlin has a career losing record with his current offensive coordinator, Noel Mazzone (24-25 in four seasons: 2016-2017 at A&M and 2018-2019 at Arizona)

Undersized, not the best thrower and underweight. He depended too much on raw talent and probably never worked on his game.

In a different system, he could’ve had a better opportunity but his holier than thou attitude but him in the arse bigly

Manziel had $1 million dollar legs, a $100,000 dollar arm, and 10 cent brain.

Wasting Khalil Tate like that is criminal, RichRod got railroaded and dude would've put up big numbers otherwise, but it still shouldn't have been hard to figure out. Mazzone was CEO's first coordinator at Mississippi too, awful and fired after one season.

Unfortunately he is a product of the current “age” multiplied by poor coaching/leadership. The guy was a loose cannon that was always patted on the back instead of disciplined. End result is what you saw once he went to a level where everyone else is equally talented.

JFF had a weak mind. He thought that he was entitled.

He was not underweight for his height and was extremely strong. Had a very strong arm

His personal issues are what did him in

If I remember correctly he came from a well off oil family, not mega rich but they had some money and he always had whatever he wanted. His father once said he couldn’t do anything with him so my guess it started with parenting and they were enablers. They were trying to be best friends with there kid and not his parents. This Contributed to the trouble he had with authority and substance abuse later on along with the huge EGO he carried around.
