Could Kirby Smart be looking at his future? Ryan Day.

Day is IMO on the hot seat big time, he can't beat Michigan and can't win the big game. Now he's catching hell from his fan base and one more big loss might be enough to get him canned.
Sure Kirby's won a couple of Natty's, but he caught a lot of breaks to do it.He got killed by Alabama in the SECCG and then caught a lot of injury luck to come back and win the Natty, then if we are all honest the best team may not have won when Ohio State missed the FG to beat him when he won his second.
We all know why he won't be playing for three and who stopped that run.
That Natty win over Alabama is the only time he has beaten a Nick Saban coached team at Bama, and he is a torrid 1-5 vs them during his tenure.
He's taking UGA into Tuscaloosa next September and I imagine as an underdog, Alabama will be returning a veteran team with its QB coming back. Lose that, and he's 1-6.
When do the calls begin that HE can't really win the big one, that HE is second fiddle?

He’s won 2 of the last 3 national championships and only missed the playoff by a hair’s breadth this year. Kirby has probably the coolest seat in the country after Saban.

Yeah but 1-3 in the playoff with no title to show for it, and only because the B1G was basically them and the field.
Now Michigan is back up and smacking them around. Lost the last 3. Not gonna be as easy to skate into the playoff going forward.

I give you the Aubs as an example of how fickle a fanbase can be. Buster Brown Bowden and his Amazins were the toast of College Football, and then just a couple of short seasons later, GONE.

Fans have very short memories and UGA fans are real assgaskets. They are going to get tired of Alabama people lording it over them real quick. Especially if Saban wins it all.

Aubs gonna Aub. You do know the playoff expands to 12 next year do you not? They go to Oregon and play Michigan but Bo Nix won't be there so they will likely be favored. He wins out there he's probably in.

Yes they’ll be in the playoff going forward, but in light of the comparison to Kirby my point still stands. Kirby has gotten the job done. Day hasn’t.
