Well, they do. Sort of. For obvious reasons there is an emphasis on safety. And no more build-it-higher every year, which is good. (I think it's ~50 feet.) But it's off-campus and I'm not sure how many students actually participate. Last year texags interviewed the head guy who had held that position for 11 years. Wait, what? It's an impressive fire, for sure. I just don't know how many students are flunking classes to build it, which of course is what it's all about.

Air Force has, hands down, the best pre-game tradition of any college team. Not only does the falcon buzz the stands, wings of blue jumps into the stadium and there is always a fly-by. Nothing quite like seeing hundreds of millions of dollars in taxpayer money flying missing man over the stadium. They've tightened the restrictions on how low the pilots can get these days but it's still a sight to be seen.

It's more than a little weird that your bonfire gif got 28 downvotes. I've no idea why 28 people would feel a need to downvote that, other than the obvious: they're LSU fan teenagers. Get used to it.

Fun fact: The flaming spear came from San Diego State when Bobby Bowden watched as SDSU bludgeoned his Noles. The pre-game he saw our Aztec do it. They got better, we got much worse. Very few people know that though, not even many Noles or Aztec fans.
