Is having elimination games like Bama/LSU.

The loser of this game will be 9-3 at best in the regular season... which means no playoff.

Teams with 2-losses being in must-win situations each week will add a level of excitement this year. I expect it to be a positive for the game.

You know the uncool thing? No structure to the system.

You're talking about being a field filler. It doesn't really matter if you aren't championship quality and neither LSU nor Alabama have been playing that level of football. You're just talking about manufactured drama really.

The best part about this season is the lack of divisions.

fricking BYU going to get a first round bye when they are ranked 8th.

What a crock of shite.

There will be adjustments after a year or two.

More Games that matter later in the regular season is a plus.

One big complaint was “oh well the regular season doesn’t mean anything” and that’s somewhat fair but at the same time, the regular season stopped meaning anything for most teams sometime in early october.

LSU and Bama would be undefeated with BYU schedule
Who has Miami played?
Who has Clemson played outside of UGA?
Who has Indiana played?

If a 2 loss team plays in the SEC title game should that eliminate that team if another sec team is sitting at home and watching as a two loss team if they should lose

A lot of scenarios could play out that make absolutely no sense

It's time to go to Relegation. It makes the English Premiere league exciting and would do the same here.

Alabama
Auburn
Florida
Georgia
LSU
Oklahoma
Tennessee
Texas

Can you imagine each Premier team having 7 Must Watch games a season? What that would do for TV revenue? The bottom two each season would be Relegated down and two other teams brought up from the B league.

Arkansas
Kentucky
Mississippi State
Missouri
Ole Miss
South Carolina
Texas A&M
Vanderbilt

I'm not really familiar with it. Does it work by the season? As in it could take a team multiple seasons to have a realistic shot at a championship?

Or is it done mid season? That seems difficult on so few games.

Entire season. For the SEC, the last couple of weeks would be full of excitement. The top teams needing to keep winning to make it into the playoffs and the bottom teams needing to win to avoid being dropped to the B league. Even the B league would have exciting games knowing that two teams will be moved up.

That would be pretty cool and exciting for relegation. The bottom teams would still have something to fight for.

Interesting that you put Oklahoma, Auburn, and Florida in the top group. They wouldn't be part of that group this year.

You're right. But it's an example based on historical rankings.

A lot of teams who make the basketball tourney aren’t championship caliber either and some crazy shite happens. Makes it fun to watch. Embrace the new format. It ain’t going back to 4

I don't know about that. Sounds great until you end up in the basement.

The only fun I've ever gotten out of that is filling out a bracket. I fear that's what college football is going to become.

Although NIL/Portal has already done tons more damage.

You suck at trolling. SMU hasn’t beaten a single ranked team. No one gives a shite about the ACC.

It doesn't matter what you do, people are going to bitch about it.

Just wait until we go to 24 teams.

SMU wrote the book on paying players. Don't think that it hasn't been noticed that they finally started playing football again when the NIL came out.
