Bell confirmed last night to ESPN that Newton did ask for money and that he has told this to the NCAA

the investigator probably has to compile a report and send it to someone who can evaluate it and make a decision, then draft a letter and inform AU.
Could be days unless it can all be done over the phone.

if UGA beats them (and knocks them out of the NC hunt) maybe typical protocol will kick in

Oh, I thought he confirmed that Kenny Rogers asked for money to sign Newton.
Can you link me another source that says this?

Bond said he'll turn over to the FBI on Tuesday phone records and other information that will support his claim that agent Kenny Rogers sought money from Mississippi State to sign Newton.

1. Confirm MSU boosters stories are true. (FWIW-I believe them).
2. Determine AUs involvment, if any.
3. Determine if any money actually changed hands.

Contacted Thursday night by ESPN.com, Bell confirmed that Cecil Newton did ask for money in exchange for Cam Newton signing with Mississippi State. Bell said he was contacted by the NCAA about the matter and spoke to an investigator earlier this week.
"That's all I want to say about it at this point," Bell told ESPN.com.

Auburn is not going to bench Cam because they know they can't win without him. Cam is their entire team.

key word in your link....claims no proof whatsoever

considering that two folks in the middle of this have backed each other up it seems there must be some proof. Why hire attorneys and go on a radio talkshow with some made up story?

Would have been interesting if North Carolina took that approach this year - instead of holding players out when their status was questionable
And yes - to anyone outside of some Auburn fans Cam's status is in question

That link doesn't say anything other than Rogers contacted Bell "on behalf" of Newton. It doesn't say that Newton contacted Bell personally.

again read the one part posted below as it is now fact Both guys in the middle of this have confirmed each others story why would they lie?

Wrong. All they have to do is determine that the Newton's were soliciting the pay for play, which has basically already been proven. We're not talking about what has to happen for Auburn to get put on probation, we're talking about Newton not playing.
