voted for MAGA but don't see how any of this helps any of us
It only shifted the entire geopolitical power away from Russia and China and firmly put the US out from for a decade. Along with eliminating terror from Iran.
You and your kids will never know how important this moment in history was because of what it avoided.

Depends.

Interesting as I don't see that we really accomplished much of anything.
Re read my post. I listed what we accomplished.
quote:
We did this 8 months ago without the war
All we did 8 months ago was freeze the program. The ability to resume as well as fund and export terror still existed. As did their supply to our two geopolitical adversaries.
That’s all gone and the world is far better for it.
The question I think you’re getting at is, for how long without regime change?
We’ll find out.

And if we go on the offensive they'll definitely retaliate by striking energy infrastructure in the region.
Which is completely unacceptable. Exactly why they shouldn’t be allowed to re-arm so they can do it more effectively next time.

One of the bigger blunders we've seen, and it'll just keep getting worse. Ego is too big to just send everyone home now, which would be the best thing to do obviously.
I see it differently.
- secured Venezuela oil prior to striking Iran to soften impact
- simultaneously disrupted our two geopolitical adversaries (Russia China) largest sources of energy. In once case, permanently.
- eliminated Irans income, access to nukes, and ability to destabilize and murder across the Middle East through arming and funding 3x terror proxies.
I’d suggest never before in history has a nation accomplished so much while risking/losing so little.
Trump has decided that these gains in our strategic national interest (for decades) are well worth some short term financial pain.
I’d suggest he’s probably right.

So what exactly do you think that accomplishes?
- they can’t build nukes.
- they can’t build missiles and drones
- they can’t fund and arm terror proxies
- they can’t supply Russia and China w/oil
That’s a few wins right there.
Resume the termination of political and IRGC leadership while maintaining blockade. They can’t move.
The people will eventually rise up and deal with those who remain.
Either way - while frozen, provide cover for Israel to extract nuclear material.
Then close up shop and call it a day.

This right here is telling.
The dismantling of the terror proxies they’ve spent decades funding and arming (with our money) are on the brink.
Our response should be to keep the foot on their neck and break those proxies permanently.
If it doesn’t happen now, it won’t happen.

What equipment?
The equipment needed to highly enrich. It’s very specialized and only military grade.

Not close to weapon grade yet
Close is subjective. It’s far beyond civilian enrichment. That only serves one purpose. Military.

It is radioactive material. Best shielding in the world is below ground. Everybody stores it there.
University labs and nuclear power plants aren’t buried under mountains. Military is.

The crazy thing is there is no evidence to suggest that they were making a nuke.
The only reason you possess that equipment is for military purposes.
The only reason you enrich that far is military.
The only reason you bury it that deep is military.
It’s military. Not civilian.
And I hope you aren’t suggesting we should just trust them to not finish. (Those who repeatedly target and murder children and civilians).

it escalates into a ground invasion and full on war then it will be severely unpopular
At most we create a buffer zone to extract the nuke material then get out. Or partner with Israel and they do it while we provide cover. We’re never going in Iraq style.

we keep having meetings while the strait is closed for a prolonged period of time the economic fall out of that will be tremendous.
I’m not sure about that. Other supply routes will be built. Supply chains will reroute, given enough time.
Trumps best bet is to maintain the blockade and state of war and destroy anything that moves militarily or leadership-wise.
I think the biggest failure has been zero propaganda/information to Iranian citizens by the US. We should 100% control messaging by now.

This war has proven that Iran absolutely had to be dealt with.
100%. They would continue to spread terror. Then once possessing a nuke, the course of humanity altered permanently.
The next confrontation with Iran would be nuclear, and likely unavoidable.

How many last minute “discussions “ is this???
Trump has to see they are drawing this out while he loses political capital. Dems have probably promised Iran Peach Mints if they can delay enough to win midterms.
These discussions need to decided in hours. Not weeks, or forget midterms.
