There is an article about Dan Mullen making fun of Billy Napier and Florida recruiting class. Comparing to his when he was the HC at Florida. I would have thought that he would have done a lot better in recruiting if he had the new transfer portal rule and NIL. That would have been scary.

Seriously, with all the crap deservedly being given to the Gators for this early signing period due to some late flips, one fact is lost............The Gators class was still better than over half the teams in the SEC.

Scout is dead. Rivals is not. When you are looking at On3 or 247's composite, one of those industry rankings is Rivals.

Yeah, I would really like to know the truth about what happened to Mullen. There had to be some serious behind the scenes issues. Was he drinking margaritas on the job?
That said, the Players Napier got were good gets imo. The problem is there were only 18 of them.

Napier is in so far over his head that he can't see daylight. What's worse is the fans are still sticking up for him saying he just needs to get his players, etc. They don't see how bad Napier is at recruiting the Portal AND signings out of HS.
The good news is what he lacks in recruiting, he more than makes up for it with his inability to grow and develop players he has. That's just his defects creating a makeshift team. Don't even look at his game calling. Anyone decent on the team will be in the portal looking for a winning team halfway through next season.
