This is true. And the Shorthorns didn't really do much that should have overwhelmed the Buckeyes. It took a couple of 4th-down plays to even attempt a change of outcome. With Oregon forgetting how to play defense, the B1G conference had a bad weekend.

Yes, going for it on 4th and 9 from your own 25 yard line in the fourth quarter when your down 23-3 at home is UGLY
And had that not been the miracle play that sparked the offensive comeback we’d all be talking about Sark’s buyout this week.
But sometimes the miracle happens
And after that they put together 3 long touchdown drives to pull off the upset so Sark is safe and they are ranked 1 instead of 12

Instead, Ryan Day gets to explain to Buckeye Nation, once again, how so much high-priced talent went South (pun intended) in the biggest moment. Those 2 HCs should vacation together, they have more in common than most realize.

The playcalling was awful. All the weapons at their disposal and that is what they came up with.

Muschamp really put Arthur smith in hell in that second half
Had times where they had 4 DTs on the field to limit run. They rolled man coverage on Smith which seems like suicide but they got Sayin off his spot (added pass rush) and he couldn’t make accurate throws when it mattered. It isn’t like tOSU went in to a shell but they weren’t connecting with smith like they were earlier in the game

I'm not taking anything away from Texas, but we do this in every big game. I know it is not Smith because all our OC's have done so.
The horns earned it. It takes guts and composure to comeback from 20 points.

Finally someone else has the correct narrative about the game. Ohio State only had a lead because of two fluke turnovers and a few circus catches by jeremiah smith. Sure they should have still hung on to win with that lead in the 4th quarter, but its not like Ohio State was ever actually dominating or in control at any point in the game. Texas wins by double digits if we play this game again.

Ohio State ran out of depth. Either a lack of depth or the heat and humidity but it was obvious as an outsider looking in. You don't have to fall over dead to be tired, just a little bit slower and all of sudden passing windows and holes are bigger and tackling goes south on you. If it was the environment that won't be an issue in an rematch but if it is a lack of depth due to prep and talent it will come back again in a rematch.

I doubt it was either. We have depth and it has been hot. Texas was better than us in the 2nd half and as a poster said in this thread, it is a 4 quarter game.
