No way. CDC is not going to frick over the SEC like that. I would bet literally anything that doesn't happen.
In fact the reason I don't think anything's happened yet is because I think he's waiting for the CWS to be over and not take the limelight from the sec teams. This guy is a polar opposite of Dodd's. One of the reasons I like him so much.
I mean we're all speculating on this thread but I guarantee you we will not make a move until the CWS is over.

If you've already got your man, assuming it's not Vitello or Schloss, there's no reason to delay the announcement. Teams are hitting the portal for players right now. There's no reason not to make it official if he's already got his guy.

I don’t think he does have a guy. Vitello and Schloss are busy. O’Conner just signed a new contract. Sullivan would be available as of last night. Bakich wanted the job once upon a time but no idea if that is still the case or if CDC would even consider him.

It’s more likely they’re ironing out the ends of Pierce so that’s as cordial as possible, and are waiting for the end of the CWS so there’s a down period they can throw out a headline that won’t get caught in the muck of CBB baseball news in the middle of the championship series. Literally the exact same thing that happened with Pierce and Augie.

If true, probably the wisest move Texas has made in a very long time. Texas is going to need allies in the SEC as you won’t run the league, despite what people say. Dodds wouldn’t have made many friends in this environment. It’s good to see CDC understanding the importance of building a strong league for us all.
We operate as the SEC. We give each other shite but at the end of the day we all benefit equally from each other’s success.

Some programs don’t get all their pride from watching the teams in their league routinely win games and succeed where they couldnt.

I feel confident that CDC just wants to be a good partner in the SEC and help keep it the best athletic conference in the country. Some of our fans? There's not much I can do about them except fight with them on a message board lol. The amount of arrogance present when Dodd's was in charge doesn't just go away overnight.
Every fan base has these issues ours just seem to be bigger and brighter.
