I don't know why, but there was hardly any anticipation at all this year. In fact, I barely thought of the game in the week leading up to it.

It ended up being a fantastic game, and I'm disappointed that Bama didn't win, but other than that, it was just sort of meh.

I think I've got more enjoyment out of the stupidity on the Rant than the actual game.

Is it possible to be desensitized to football? Am I just in a funk? Any other Bama fans not get excited about playing in this year's championship? Any other fans ever feel this way?

If we had of won it I honestly would have went into total meh mode. I started getting this feeling I use to get when I would start winning too much in my dynasty in NCAA and needed to start over with a smaller, weaker school

I was not into it this year either, sure I wished they would had won, but I thought it was pretty cool seeing Dabo's reaction after the game. I also agree that I enjoyed watching the rant last night make every effort to get Bama fans riled up, before I would not had pulled the rant up for at least 5 days after a Bama loss, but last night was fun. I even jumped into bashing Bama fans

You're all full of crap.
We had a meeting. Guys, we're all extremely emotional. Swaying between clinical depression and uncontrollable rage. But let's all play nonchalant just to piss off some fans of a team that hasn't beaten us in 6 years.

ha yall's jimmies are rustled. It is ok, you don't have to down play anything. Yall lost, I am sure it is probably easier knowing yall will be right back in the thick of things next year.

It probably is hard to get excited when you have a great shot at winning it every year. I would get bored too.

That's what happens when one teams continues to dominate. Bama losing was good for college football

You could be right, I hope this loss gets Saban and the team focused, and hungry for success again. Would be great to see Saban make it his mission to dominate every game they play next season.

I get what you are saying. I really wasn't excited about the championship until a few hours before the game.

I suppose it was.

Don't get me wrong. I didn't enjoy the loss, but leading up to it, it was almost as though my team wasn't even one of the participants. Still ended up being a hell of a game.

Guess I'll polish off the old "wait 'til next year", and hope Hurts learns to throw the ball, or Sarkisian finds a QB who can.

I've been saying for awhile that I think some Alabama fans may be bored. I think it kind of comes with the territory of a dynasty. When you expect to win every game you play, there's just not as much anticipation, week in and week out, as there is when winning is so uncertain. I think it's just human nature. Dynasties are also boring for the college football fan in general. I'm sure there are plenty of Alabama fans who had excitement throughout the season, but I can totally understand the apathy some might have too.

Not trolling here at all. I felt like some of bamas team looked like they had that emotion on the sideline.

It was odd to me to see Hurts never really get into it. I know hes a level-headed kid, but he seemed to be in a meh mood the whole game (even when he made HUGE plays).

Maybe because it wasn't two different teams, or at least somebody playing Alabama besides tOSU or Clemson.
But that may be the most unbelievable 4th quarter I've ever seen. The whole game was a classic.

This falls under that category of Clemson and their fans simply wanted it more than Bama and their fans. It had become too routine for Bama. Couple that with the premature loss of your OC, Kiffin, and the injury of your starting RB, Scarborough and the upset was easy to fathom. Cheer up. It really is just football after all.
