The Rebels have already majorly sold out with their name. Nothing about it resembles the Confederate Rebels anymore.

Mississippi should have swapped the Colonel for Che Guaverra and added a rainbow ak-47 as their logo. Woke crowd would have loved them.

I remember being the last team to beat y’all before you went on a hell of a winning streak in football, 1999 independence bowl. In fact I think that was the last football game of the 20th century

Indeed. He had one long TD that game if I remember right. We won on a last second field goal, Les Binkley was our kicker. I was just 9 at the time, but that’s the first season I remember following every game religiously

We were thrilled we went to a bowl game after a few losing seasons. The darkest era of OU football, tbh. But we couldn’t stop McAllister, he gashed us left and right the entire game

We split a basketball series at that same time, OU won in 99 and Rebs won in 2000.
Seems like we might have played in the NCAA tourney in basketball once too…
