But the same could be said if the west ends up with a 2 loss team going to Atlanta vs a 2 loss UGA team, the winner may not get in.

Alabama wins out, they will have beaten two of the top four teams
This assumes both Mississippi State and Auburn continue to win until playing Alabama and that is the only game they lose. That is hardly a given considering their remaining schedules for the rest of the season

The idea that Alabama or any SEC team is in if you win out is not necessarily true.

Disagree. IF Auburn wins out, which is a very tall task, Auburn is in. The committee just said so. They will not be dropping Auburn with the schedule that is left.

I'm very surprised that the committee wasn't way off target. I hope they continue to perform well.

I'm very happy with how they did. I'm a proud alum of bama, but I don't think anybody can argue the top 4 without throwing in their own bias. well done.

I thought Auburn should be 3rd, and they were.

They have one loss on the road against the best team in the country. And two very good wins, one away from home.

No one else had a case for #3. Committee nailed it.

Alabama had no business being top 4. Committee nailed it again.

Ole Miss should be ahead of Alabama. Committee nailed it again.

They did a great job IMO.

Shows that they consider resume over momentum
This was my biggest takeaway.

If they go by quality wins/quality losses like they did here, they would probably vote the winner in. They clearly favor teams with better opponents so the SEC champ will likely go.

I tend to agree but it would mean the majority of the losses for all these highly ranked SEC teams come in November when other teams are winning on easier schedules even though easier.

You really think Arkansas or UT-Martin can beat Mississippi State?

Take a good look at Michigan State's schedule, for example. Even one more loss by MSU or Auburn won't drop them below Nebraska or Ohio State....especially Miss. State.

This is exactly where each team should be ranked at this point. Kudos to the committee. Anyone that says otherwise is being biased. Jmho

I was impressed with the initial rankings. It gave the committee a lot of credibility IMO.
