I supported him but he absolutely had to make the playoff this year. There was no excuse for missing it.

Yup

A lot of behind the scene dirty laundry is starting to be aired out with Kelly.

So are you cool with letting him go like LSU did as far as timing?

I had some reservations (especially with the OC), but wanted to wait to see what he would do when he got everything he wanted. We see how that went.

Sure, at this point it's just a sunk cost fallacy. I knew it was over when he lost to Vandy, it was just a matter of when.

Then the team clearly quit in the third quarter so it became evident something had to be done.

You didn’t have a QB. Dude was dog shite against good teams last year. I do not understand why he was pushed to heisman chatter before the season started.

He is the most overhyped LSU quarterback maybe ever.

fricking fraternity intramurals champ at best.

Couldn’t even be arsed to get cut and show up ready to run the football this season. Eating ice cream with his lil girlfriend and making TikTok’s instead, frick me.

It's going to be even funnier if LSU hires Marcus Freeman

I won’t find that funny. He’s probably the best “young” coach in college football, and I prefer he stay outside the SEC unless he’s coaching for Texas.

I checked out on him at the beginning of last year. Like early last year. I think most LSU fans who actually watched any games did the same. I had zero confidence in him if he kept going like he was, but since we kept him after last year I HOPED he would either change or stumble into a decent season. He didn’t…

I was behind FCBK because of what he did to bring LSU back from the abyss after the O disaster.

All the talk about low scholarship numbers was mostly based on available for a bowl game, NOT the actual roster he was given. Because you always count your incoming class. Otherwise all teams go down to like 60 scholarships minimum every year but nobody ever says that.

I think LSU had like 72 scholarships that year, but the actual reason for the reduced scholarships was NCAA sanctions.

He was given over a month to recruit and retain existing players, he didn't even have to worry about coaching the bowl game or anything - just focused on finishing out the recruiting class and transfers.

Correct, most teams go to around 60 returnees.

LSU was around 42 or 43. Several of those players sat out the bowl game and weren't counted.

I said 60 minimum.

Georgia went down to 44 last year.

Alabama went down to 42 last year.

Texas A&M went down to 40 last year.

Ole Miss went down to 37 last year.

You never heard about it because the only time in fricking history anyone has counted rosters like that was LSU fans making excuses for Brian Kelly.

Per 247, you started the 2025 season with 82 scholarship players.

You took 12 transfers and 21 recruits.

Where did the other players come from?

I think it's because that type of turnover was fairly new for that time.
