Probably on same day as Pac12 MediaDay

Lol, they want to humiliate the PAC for having the only major conference network not on Directv.

Or they want to announce they've made a deal with PAC 12 Networks at the same time.

So basically the lawyers,, (Comcasts and ESPN/SECN) pissed away enough time to cost us the chance to announce this during media days.

Well that is what lawyers do best, (piss away other peoples time).

Time Warner and DirectV are still major players, if DTV comes in as expected, then it's just down to TW to clean sweep the major SECland carriers.

If the news about Murdoch trying to get TW are true then that outfit could be in a fudgepot beyond the start of football season. Either way SEC football is one of the very best products on broadcast tv, you know it, I know it, the American people know it, at least until Obomba imports all the soccer fans to this country.

You will have to get the Sport Tier One package (or whatever they call it. I believe I pay an additional $7 a month for it. With it I get two outdoor channels, an additional nothing but fishing channel, tennis channel, hockey channel, NBA TV, well........instead of telling what all I get........

LINK

plus more than a handful of channels that aren't listed there. (it says Pac-12 Network. I don't get that but do get the B1G on mine. It is useless to me, but I get it nonetheless)

Right now, without the sports tier, I get:

ESPN
ESPN2
ESPNU
FS1
ESPNNEWS
NBATV
CBS Sports
NBC Sports
NHL Network
PAC 12 Washington
CSN
Root Sports
Golf Channel
NFL Network
Fox Soccer Channel

With a sports tier, I'd also get

ESPN Goal Line/Full Court/Bases Loaded
Big Ten Network
Tennis Channel
NFL Redzone
FCS regional channels
BEin

I assume SEC Network would be on the sports tier

Yes. That's what the Comcast rep that I talked to this morning told me. She told me there would be no additional charge with them picking it up. I will say, I have been lied to, over the phone, from Comcast reps before. If I was a Comcast customer, I would call and make sure the information I received is correct. I plan on double checking, in a week or so, myself.

FWIW I have TW and called and they're telling subscribers that they're going to have it the first week of August. I was going to cancel today and get UVerse but they begged me to wait until the first week of August before I make any decision. Before I was just getting the "we're in negotiations" line.

So I'm assuming that they know they're going to have to shite or get off the pot.

Looks like the SECN will startup with more suscribers than the Big10 network has after being available since 2007...

Big10 Network is currently in 52 million homes. The Comcast deal puts the SECN in 46 million homes. If TW & DTV sign on the SECN will be in approx 76 million homes across America...

two separate news agencies have reported it is part of the standard package and not the sports tier. Sadly they disagree on what tier it will be on.

One said Digital Basic (which isn't even a tier) and the other said Digital Premier. But they both agree that in the 11-state in-market it's going to be in the Digital Starter package. So yeah, I wouldn't trust anything at this point unless it's listed in an official Comcast release or on the channel listing on the website.

Fox Soccer Channel

Not sure how old this channel list is CGSC, but it's clearly outdated as Fox Soccer hasn't existed in about a year. It was converted to FXX last September. FXX is not a sports channel.

Time Warner, is not the same as Time Warner Cable.

Murdoch is trying to acquire Time Warner.

The SECN is negotiating with Time Warner Cable to get the SECN carried.

Time Warner and Time Warner cable split sometime in the past. Murdoch's bid for Time Warner is completely unrelated to the SECN's negotiation with Time Warner Cable, because Time Warner and Time Warner Cable are no longer related companies
