Lol, they’ll probably just tear it down anyway but it’s nice to see them not bend the fricking knee for once

MO is beet red with two tiny blue dots, so it isn't surprising.

I mean, Thomas Jefferson isn't a Confederate icon, so not surprising. He's on Mount Rushmore for a damn reason, because he's one of the most important people of the early days of the United States of America.

Now if it was a statue of Jefferson Davis...

Makes me think they realized caving in to the demands of a mob doesn’t work. And they can’t afford another massive decline in enrollment.

Fun fact that I forgot about. Thomas Jefferson's tombstone is also on MU's campus near the statue. Mizzou was the first university established on land bought from the Louisiana purchase. I am glad they kept the statue, it is a cool unique part of our campus

Nice job Mizzou

Yet the greatest Confederate slayer that ever lived rests in St. Louis. We're a weird state.

Impressive. We just took down out Jefferson Davis memorial in our capital today. Rumor is they want to replace it with one of Muhammad Ali.

We gutted the incompetent 2015 administration. Totally cleaned house. If you were making solid 6 figures and all your predecessors were fired for negotiating with terrorists and the terrorists came back to negotiate, would you negotiate?

Sadly, most higher education figures and politicians have such a lack of spine that when when they make such an obviously right and beneficial decision it is almost shocking. Here’s hoping you guys don’t have to live your 2015 in 2020.

TJ has a substantial place in the history of Missouri. He was POTUS when the Louisiana Purchase was made and MO was part of that.
