I don’t know a ton about baseball. Why was that interference? Looks like runner was running straight line

There’s no “running lane”. If so, he’d have been in it.

I don’t understand why coaches don’t teach the runners lane in this case. The rule is pretty easy and straight forward. If you run in the lane you are protected. If you run outside you aren’t protected.
You know it’s going to be a bang bang play at first, if you run in the lane, it’s 1-0 OU

This is why instant replay is so good. The right call was made. If the OU guy stays inside the baseline they’re up 1-0 right now. He didn’t and here we are.

Peyton graham has been garbage

He was on the inside of the line

No runners advance on interference no matter the interference call. That was not specific to this call.

quote:No it doesn't. There's literally a lane for this to prevent this from happening, and it protects the 1B. Don't break rules, you score. Easy.
This is one of those rules that suck. The interference has nothing to do with the runners advancing.

Oklahoma has the one hit on the first player at bat and that’s been it the entire game

The problem with the rule is the base is almost entirely on the fair side of the path. I’m not sure why you would white knight for a dumbass rule.

The rule is to stop guys from running in the grass.
Not to call a guy out when the left foot is inside the line while the right foot is outside the line. That kid ran straight down the base line.
The Ole Miss pitcher showed very poor fundamentals in fielding and throwing that bunt and got bailed out for it.

Hopefully we don't break here. That inning was a tough pill to swallow.
