The fair is not as great as most think. I actually went one year to experience it. 2016, Oklahoma won 45-40, over Texas. The game was great because it was competitive, but half of Mexico outside the stadium wasn’t that great. A lot of Gays eating corn dogs.

Oregon is one of the nicest most naturally scenic states in the country. Especially the western part of the state. It’s a rare opportunity for the media to travel to the west coast for meaningful college football.

That's because they're playing the upper crust on GameDay, which clearly Aggy is not.

Nobody has hit on the logistical reasons. Gameday was at SF last weekend. They make the rather short drive up to Oregon with at least two 18-wheelers full of equipment, including tons of video cameras, drones, stage platforms, chairs, desks, computers, and a video headquarters truck.
After the game in Oregon, they likely haul all of that equipment to Austin, then decide where to go next. Probably somewhere between Austin and the east coast. They are headquartered in Bristol, CT.

OSU currently has 4 ranked teams on their remaining schedule after Oregon, which is more than Texas, sooooooo
