I'm hoping LSU wins, we both beat Arkansas, and then Ole Miss can have Gameday and have the ultimate guest pickers ever. Here was my post on the Ole Miss board, and I have emailed it to Bjork (got a reply about it being funny and keeping it in mind) and ESPN (which I got a vague reply)

quote:

Let's face it, we're not topping Katy Perry in terms of star power. She's the biggest star in the world, literally. I also think that some of the other choices like Archie, Shep, and Morgan Freeman are safe choices, but are dull compared to what we got last year, with Katy Perry trolling the world.

I'm proposing we go in a heavily unorthodox approach to a Guest Picker this year, that brings more to the table than any Guest Picker in history: The Muppets. Technically I'd have Kermit and Miss Piggy be the Guest Pickers, but then just make up a story that all the Muppets followed the two of them there and have taken over the Grove. Just imagine the possibilities: Fozzie and Gonzo as field reporters. The Swedish Chef and John Currance making Shrimp and Grits using Pepe the Prawn as an ingredient. Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem riding and playing on top of the Double Decker bus. Rowlph playing Dixie. Scooter hanging in the background with the Bear. Sports Science with Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker. Rebel the Bear fighting Bobo the Bear. Statler and Waldorf carrying Gameday signs and heckling Corso directly in the background. Animal running through the Grove screaming "Woman, Woman" repeatably.

Just make it as chaotic and archaic as possible. We already showed off the Grove and what it has to offer, now have fun with it. They could be a great asset to showing off Oxford and the Grove. Jim Henson is from MS and there's a new Muppet show debuting on ABC this fall. What would they have to lose doing this?

I know its a bit of a long shot with Ohio State facing Michigan State, but it does make sense from a promotional basis on going to the Grove. I'd say it's a 30% chance, but you can't say that my idea isn't glorious and perfectly timed.

College GameDay host and Alabama alum Rece Davis spoke with reporters Friday afternoon on the steps of Bryant-Denny Stadium, but he did not reveal the identity of Saturday's celebrity guest picker for the Alabama-LSU game.

"I know (who it is)," Davis said. "I don't know if it's been completely verified, but I can tell you this: to my knowledge, in the history of College GameDay, I don't there's ever been a guest picker quite like the one that's going to join us on Saturday, assuming that it all comes through. It's big-time.
