My grandfather served in the first marine Paratrooper battalion (because it paid $1 more/week) and fought at Guadalcanal and Choiseul (which is a great story of a small group of marines creating a diversion to cover the Bougainville battle plans, my grandfather is mentioned in a book about it called ‘Mission Raise Hell’) and after they disbanded the battalion, he was assigned to the 5th and eventually lost his leg to a mortar shell on Iwo Jima.

Those dudes were tough.

This was my first career job. It’s a fantastic career for all the things you’ve mentioned. You also work closely with the docs as a sonographer, which can be pretty cool. It also opened the door to my 25 year second career in medical sales.

All the morons think it was political, but it was just marketing.

Goodell’s been pretty clear about expanding the game.

I was working in the ER in Baton Rouge in the 90’s and someone died one night in the same way, fell in the dough mixer. That was a long time ago, but I think it was at a local Domino’s.
