You played 3 creampuffs

Then you played Jackson Arnold for 3 qtrs - who by the way was the 3rd lowest ranked qb of 140 teams on Sat.

So what you're saying is we haven't played anybody yet. I guess we gotta play Bama and Georgia in order to play somebody.

Don't points count more than yardage? What's our points-per-possession rate?

A&M

2.03 on Defense (59th)

I’m saying out of 16 quarters of football you only faced one viable QB for 1 of those 16 quarters. And in that one qtr vs a decent qb your D gave up 2 TDs. And before there is a narrative shift “we stopped trying” lets check this out:

quote:

Fact: Per PFF, Tennessee blitzed Hawkins at a higher rate than they did Arnold

Your D played harder vs Hawkins and still couldn’t stop him. So you should be at top.

But imagine playing a viable qb for 4 quarters where its not a guy cold off bench with zero 1st string reps all season. Your D is good but its way to early to say it deserves 1 ranking. Thats an illusion.

Correct. Total defense is essentially meaningless. SCORING defense is the metric that matters.

Tennessee hasn’t played one team that can put the Vols defense under any kind of stress or conflict. They should have outstanding numbers.

we sold squares to pick what day in October the first “Saban is coming back” Post or tweet shows up. 10.00 a square and it’s a 50/50. Winner gets 50% and the rest goes to the Blount County animal shelter.

I been pulling for Tenn. to get back for 20 years, or has it been 25 years, its no fun ragging teams that are that bad. Auburn has entered that zone now, they will not be good again in a long, long time.

I still remember Big Daddy's video in 2009, man had heart, but Mt. Coady broke him. The problem with programs like Tenn., Florida and Auburn is they wait to late or fire too soon, how much better would Auburn have been in the last 6-7 years if they had not fired Gus? Florida probably should have rehired the guy who won titles in 2007 and 2008 or kept the ex Miss. St. Coach OR got a much better coach. You can not hire Mike Shula types. We learned our lesson. Tenn. got lucky to get Heupel, he should have been named the OU coach.

I know hes a good coach dude, been watching football 57 years.

When you are being ragged, you have arrived.

Georgia has given up no TD's. I'd put them at #1 right now.

It’s stop rate that’s being ranked here (the amount of opponents drives that end in a punt, turnover, or TOD). Georgia ranks 128th in FG allowed per game at 2.5. So although no TD allowed, opponents still drive and score (FG’s) often

"king"

I recall the last time UT was 'king', it lasted a whole week before meeting UGA for our annual prison-raping of the little orange.

Old Japanese Kamikaze saying; "Let us eat, drink and be merry....for tomorrow we die. "

Revised version for UT: "Let us eat, drink and be merry...for later in the season we will face Alabama, UGA and our nemesis Florida."
