So you can suck our dick Cheater.
Which is EXACTLY what Alabama did with the textbook "scandal" and the late 90s basketball "probation".
The textbook "violations" would have never seen the light of day if the Alabama itself didn't uncover it and turn itself in. The NCAA praised compliance for handling the matter exactly how it's supposed to be handled and Alabama received no actual punitive penalties other than vacated wins and "probation". Nebraska very recently turned in identical "textbook violations" and received nothing in the way of penalties.
The basketball "violation" was a booster turning in a UA assistant coach for trying to solicit funds for a recruit. Alabama stopped recruiting the high profile prospect, fired the assistant coach, and was again praised by the NCAA. There should have never been a penalty but the probation window was extended anyway.

LSU got a slap on the wrist, it is a probation, but not all probations are the same... some are much much worse... Using Bama Logic, LSU and PSU are the same in the eyes of the NCAA. As we know all violations are NOT the same.
Which is why Auburn fans are such frickin hypocrites. You guys speak out of both sides of your mouth. Alabama'a textbook case and the late 90s basketball case were so small in scope and severity that absolutely no punitive measures were added other than "probation" yet you guys have the nerve to label these probations as horrible while out of the same mouth downplaying probations at other schools.

FIFY
Saban didn't "get Alabama on probation" anymore than Terry Bowden did Auburn. The textbook situation was going on during the previous head coach's tenure and Saban found it and cleaned up the mess midway through his very first season. Don't let any facts of any context get in the way of your bashing though.

You leave out one very important detail, there is a matter of vacating 3 seasons of football.... in fact that is a very BIG penalty and will always be in the record books. Bowl games, scholarships do not permanently mark you as a cheater; vacated and forfeited games do.
Alabama's OFFICIAL Record: 2005 (0-2), 2006 (0-7), 2007 (2-6)LINK

The NCAA has found the University of Alabama football program in violation of its rules at least three times in the last two decades. The most notable incident came in 2000 when a booster paid a high school coach to steer a recruit to the Crimson Tide. An investigation found numerous other violations, and Alabama was placed on five years' probation, among other sanctions. In 1995, the NCAA forced Alabama to vacate wins after it learned coaches were aware one of the school's All-Americans had secretly signed with an agent, and in 2009 the university was sanctioned for misuse of its textbook distribution program by 16 athletic programs, including football.
Damn dirty cheaters.

You are so freaking obsessed with the University of Alabama.

I think most rational people would know that Alabama has one of the dirtiest programs the last 20 years, While Auburn football has been clean. We learned our lesson with ER.
I love when AU folks talk like this. Not disputing the part about Bama, but let's be honest Allin: everyone knows Auburn is dirty. Don't state the obvious and point out that you haven't been punished the last 20 years or so. We got it- congratulations on your luck. I'm specifically disputing your ridiculous assertion that all 'reasonable' people think AU is clean, and that anyone who doesn't share that belief is some deranged Bammer. Why don't you leave Bama fans out of it, and make a post asking the 'rational' fans of the other 12 SEC schools if they think AU is clean. You will not like the response.
The difference between you and I is that I can accept reality.
ETA: Also, I'm probably better looking, more athletic, drive a better car, better sense of humor, etc.

Pretty sure he was referring to the way both fan bases are pretty much cultish when it comes to college football.
And if that is in fact the way he was thinking, he is absolutely correct.

Yes there were vacated wins but the point still stands. This exact same textbook system violation just occurred at Nebraska and nothing happened. The only thing I can figure is that apparently the violation itself isn't grounds for having wins vacated unless you're within a probationary window because Nebraska had involved players that played while their textbook violations occurred but they didn't have to vacate wins.

I actually know zero 60-year old "gumps" that have told somebody to "suck our dick" on a message board. In fact, that's actually probably the first time I've seen anybody of any age say that on this board.
And you're definately the guy who wants to fight Clay Travis.

Well, this thread went about like I expected it would. Minus the part where the geriatric dude solicited fellatio from another man.
