Except that Tubby decided when Tubby left. He went to Minnesota and they actually fired him. So ask Memphis and Minnesota how to do it. Now Barnhart was messing with Tubby telling him to replace David Hobbs and Tubby said no. But when Tubby left he didn't take Hobbs to Minnesota.

That's a combination that works regardless of race. BAMA had a black HC in Anthony Grant that was a good coach. He came from VCU and averaged 80 points a game. He comes to BAMA and for 6 years puts on a tractor pull. Wins a lot of games and even the wins were hard to watch with his all-defense all the time style. Runs the best shooters off cause they were about to have nervous breakdowns. BAMA fires him and he runs off to Dayton. Goes back to uptempo and Grant had Dayton ranked #5 in the country and on the brink of being a #1 seed when COVID canceled the Big Dance.
He's a good coach but just spent 6 years at BAMA trying to set basketball back to the 4 corner's offense.

True. And UK can't/won't fire Calipari based on one horrible season, but if it stretches on to several he will be run off or even fired.
But in order to fire a black coach it meant that you were willing to hire a black coach and give a man a chance. So this should not be about race but performance, however some will never see it that way.
