But in order to fire a black coach it meant that you were willing to hire a black coach and give a man a chance. So this should not be about race but performance, however some will never see it that way.
Maybe those folks should schedule Dayton?

At least we have Drink, yes ?
It looks like we’re going to try to be a football school for the foreseeable future.

That guy coaching the Utah Jazz sure seems like he knows what he's doing.

Regardless of what the official storyline is, the Cuonzo Martin - Michael Porter Sr. and thus Michael Porter Jr. and thus Jontay Porter was pretty much a done deal at the time of hiring Martin. Not being hypocritical, I was all for it at the time. Missouri went from the depths of college basketball to being instantly considered a contender (or at least in the conversation).
Sprinkle in a little of that Mizzou bad luck and your star turnaround player is out for (almost all of) his one-and-done season and you are left with a coach who really has never achieved in the past.
In retrospect, we shouldn't have pursued the flashy chance at a rocket ride back to respectability. We should have found a fundamentally sound coach who could build a solid program over time (granted I don't know who that would have been but then I'm not paid to find such people). So what if it takes him 4-5 years. We're stuck with Martin until probably 2023 at least and then we get to start over.

I don't disagree, just saying UK knows how too, and yes Tubby and especially Joker needed to be fired. Barnhart hung on to Joker two years to long. Tubby went 5 or so years longer than he should've

Maybe you can get Mike Anderson back.
Doubt he would leave St. Johns for Mizzou though

He would be a fool if he did.
The one that got away, in hindsight, was Bill Self.
