So why was this considered a huge red flag against Manziel, but not Clowney or other players?
You are being selective in deciding what evidence applies to who.
So hundreds of sequentially authenticated autographs show up with Manziel, and there are photos of him in hotel rooms signing...and that means he sat down and signed them all in one session.
But hundreds of sequentially authenticated autographs show up with Clowney, and there are photos of him in hotel rooms signing...but that means they probably weren't signed in a session but just authenticated at the same time.
You've go to be kidding me.

Now USCe fans are saying that the same evidence does not apply to the early investigation of Clowney.
What investigation? USC already cleared Clowney.
Did you not read the title of the thread or are aTm fans in the business of just posting "Clowney is guilty" bs in all thread on tRant these days in an effort to avoid the fact that Manziel is more than likely not going to play another snap for the aggies

well when you have someone saying so in one case and not the other, i'd say its not selective. You are the one assuming since johnny did it one way everyone else did it that way

The only thing that matters is the broker saying he paid Manziel. If he claims he paid Clowney and all the other athletes then I might start worrying.

This is a special kind of stupid hahaha
ban bet? i would offer to bet some serious cold hard cash, but youre just some random guy on the net several states away.
Clowney is the most selfless person in college football. It is one thing to sign a bunch of free stuff for a crowd of children, but to sign a bunch of stuff in a hotel room for an autograph broker, out of the kind ness of ones heart...true selflessness.

I agree that this piece has yet to fall...and may not.
But it wasn't until last night that the issue of the sequential autographs of Clowney, Miller, Bridgewater, & Lee was raised.
It wasn't until just a couple of hours ago that the pictures of Clowney in hotel rooms were published.
The question now is whether ESPN/Schad are going to go through the same steps they took with Manziel, and track down the brokers and discuss whether payment took place.
All of the evidence with Maziel (#'ed autos, pictures, and claim of payment) didn't all come down at one time. It took time for ESPN to go get it.

Is there a way to merge this thread with the other? We could title it As the Meatballs Cool

ESPN didn't go looking for the story. It came to them.
And now we have a clue as to why...
Memoribilia dealers happy Manziel under investigation after family trademarked "Johnny Football"
quote:
Rob Rudolph admits he's enjoyed watching Johnny Manziel's struggles this offseason. The 46-year-old from Tampa says on the subject of Manziel's off-field headlines, "it's kinda funny." He suspects a whole bunch of other people in his business, memorabilia dealers around the country, are getting a kick out of the Texas A&M star's issues with being investigated by the NCAA too.
Rudolph has a company called First and Goal Sports and has been hawking items, mostly signed football memorabilia, for a dozen years on eBay, he says. In January, Rudolph says eBay suspended his account for two weeks, just like it did for many, many other memorabilia dealers.
Now we've got motive.
Nobody has motive to take down Clowney. Well, other than ticked off Aggie fans eager to burn down the world around them.

So, this all hinges on Clowney not trademarking "Doo-Doo" is what you're telling me?

If the NCAA tries to take down Manziel, I expect Daddy Manziel to sue essentially everyone in sight. Did Manziel take money for autographs? Probably. And you are some kind of blind if you think Clowney, Mariotta, Miller, Lee, etc didn't do the same thing.
If it goes that far, expect the entire system to burn. And Schad's resources are apparently some REALLY quality individuals

So because Manziel allegedly did, it means everyone else did too? Get the frick out with that shite

Again I ask why the broker would only say he paid Manziel instead of saying he paid a shite load of football players

I'm afraid Clowney will get the Manziel treatment now.
That would be a shame if the witch hunt spread out because lil Johnny got busted.

Oh, I'm sorry are these football players all angels? Do you seriously believe that? If so, you live in denial. NCAA sports are crooked, and athletes are very well compensated at virtually every school, above and beyond what is legal. It's just about who gets caught
These football players did it ALL out of the kindness of their hearts. REALLY?

We haven't been on probation since 1991 I do believe. Maybe aTm can ask UF for some help cheating since everyone does it but it's just a matter of getting caught.

We definitely need to get better at it, because we have every program in Texas looking for evidence against us on a daily basis.

Joe Schad is a wormy piece of shite

Impossible. Clowney doesn't go on Summer 2013 "Douchin' Across the USA" Tours like Manziel does and attract the type of attention that makes him an easy target.
