The following below is his response.....
Clemson has no leverage.
Clemson is stuck.
If they leave the ACC, I assume they go to the SEC or Big 10, but the ACC isn't shutting down. They have to pay their way out of it. They also have to have an invitation. And I've not heard rumblings of that.
Second, if you invite Notre Dame in and give them all the money what's the point? You are still back where you started?
In terms of just ripping up the contract and starting over with what you have. Disney isn't going to do that. They bent over backwards to get the ACC a cable channel. That costs a pile of money. And why would 13 other schools vote for less money?
This is about fairness? Was this an unfair deal when you signed it three years ago?
Clemson had its chance to leave in 2011, and they should have. It has been worth it in the short term, but it remains to be seen what happens in the long term. A 12-team playoff doesn't benefit Clemson. It makes their life harder.
The ACC isn't going to do what only one league has done of late for a lot of reasons. Perhaps the biggest reason being that that league, the Big 12, won't exist soon.
Clemson should have left with Florida state. They had the chance. They didn't. Everything else the dude was saying is whatever. Notre Dame is not coming into the league.
A lack of vision at the ACC and Clemson is the problem. But it's too late to fix all of that now. They need to breakout of the ACC somehow.
It will be a bad ten years either way. They are between a rock and a hard place. Maybe they'll find a hill to run down to get out of it.

I think someone posted the highest viewership programs a couple of days ago and Clemson was not even in the top 11 which surprised me. I don’t think any acc team was.

The ACC has more depth with CFB brands than the Big 12 and Clemson is in a good place to win it every year.
Clemson, Florida State, Miami, Virginia Tech are a strong core 4 for the conference when it comes to CFB brands. The ACC has Notre Dame as a scheduling partner which increases ratings and helped them land that deal.
They should go add West Virginia to have another mid-level FB brand in conference.

The SEC already carries a big SOS stick. Now it's only going to get bigger. If Clemson didn't have Georgia scheduled this year their SOS would be non-existent. I could see a lot of teams in other conferences wanting to schedule SEC teams in the future. SOS matters.

Clemson has 3 football national titles and has played in 2 more, all but 1 of them in the last 7 years. South Carolina didn't win its first bowl game until 1995. And yet the state of South Carolina is still split evenly between Gamecocks and Tigers. Clemson doesn't move the needle like other national programs.

So Clemson wants to pull a Texas on the ACC.

You just made the argument that Clemson doesn't need to go anywhere to win national titles in football. Being in the SEC and making all of the SEC money sure hasn't done much for School like the UofSC.

Short time vs long term thinking.

One good coach. SCAR needs one. Clemson needs to keep the one they lucked into. It all can change, one way or the other.

In the UofSC's case...Very long term. Decades if not centuries.

Let the Big 10 have them. We already have Auburn, they are the same thing.

Lookit, we have already said NO THANK YOU, again, to the SEC. There is no point in acting like the creeper who just won't leave the pretty girl alone. Our players will continue to get to the playoffs in great physical shape and ready for the next level by staying right where we are. The closest UofSuck will get to the playoffs is listening to their boss bragging about how much fun he and his family had watching their Clemson Tigers bringing home another one.

Leave it to Georgia to have a winnable game and blow it because of bulletin board material

What power house teams are in the ACC? Oh, only Clemson. Get over yourself, you get to the national scene by default with the lack of competition.
Get back in your cage Kitty.

Oh no it could not have happened to a nicer cult.

I'd much rather have them over Texass or OU
