All of their exits from the playoff have been similar(well, most).

Solid football team but had pretty much NO chance or ability to compete with the best team/teams those years.

Clemson has been impressive. Their 2 championships were awesome. But they’ve been overrated like hell overall.

Look, my disdain for Clemson runs deeper than any other team in CFB, but E10 was an unsung hero for that team while he was there. While sunshine got "all" the hype a strong run game sets up the passing game. While I won't say his presence would have changed the ultimate outcome of the game, it would have changed Clemson's in game play calling and performance.

He got shut down in games last year and it would have been worse vs uga.

I think 4 or 5 SEC west teams would go 11-1 with this joke of a schedule

I just want a Clemson fan to tell us where there's even a potential opportunity for a "big" win left on that schedule. They shouldn't even remotely be in the cfp conversation even if they run the table. Guys like Herbstreit are going to look like fools trying to hype up wins at Syracuse or Pitt LOL

Fair enough. I'll stand by my original point that he would have improved them (how much we'll never know), but I don't disagree with your point either. Have an UV.

Realistically, probably not. VT beat #10 UNC and I suppose if they got hot maybe..but the Coastal Division usually devours itself. FSU looks like a better team and I could see them with no more losses before they play us and there may be a little hype there.

I think we need help from teams around the nation to lose some games. Oklahoma looked very pedestrian against Tulsa, Ohio State IMO is still a question. Any team that we are competing for a playoff spots needs to lose to an unranked team so we can claim our "quality loss" trumps losing to an unranked team.

If you are talking about the semifinal Ohio State games...yeah, I agree. If Chris Olave doesn't go in the wrong direction and slips, he's got that catch and they win... Clemson was clearly outplayed in that game.

Etienne was their MVP the last two seasons. Maybe the last three. The offense revolved around him despite getting sunshine pumped up everyone's asses. They would certainly be a better team with him.

Question - when Scott was still there, was he the primary play caller or was it truly a 50/50 split? It may be totally wrong, but it does feel like the playcalling has gotten much less creative since he left for South Florida.

From what I gather, Scott was the primary play caller. He and Tony Elliot carried the title of Co-Coordinators. Perhaps these to guys were were better as a team than a bifurcation.

Dabo encouraged Scott to take the USF job. Now that UCF and Cincinnati are leaving for the Big 12 that may be a bad deal. Scott was riding the gravy train on biscuit wheels at Clemson and may have gotten a better gig than USF.

To be fair, the haven’t had any games ranked 10-25 in that span.

Of course, they don't have anymore Top 25 games this year, so this list won't get updated until December or January.

I am hoping it doesn't get updated until sometime next Fall. I realize, however, they will be playing in a bowl game of some kind, though.

Our play calling in the UGA game was horrendous. QB play and OLINE play was equally bad (partly due to an impressive effort by the dawgs). Not winning many games against good competition with that combo.

Our O-line is terrible and has been for years. I feel like we recruit well enough, but we don't develop lineman, AT ALL. Huge Huge issue. We have skated by with really good RB/QB play in the past 5 years or so, and a hurry up scheme when Morris was our OC. We are one dimensional against teams with a good defensive line and it shows up in these sorts of games/playoffs. We need to shake up the coaching staff with a new OC and a new OL coach.

As for the schedule, it's weak sauce for sure. That's why we picked up this UGA game last year. Now that we lost, it's going to be tough to make the playoffs. I'm sure the ACC Coastal will do what they always do, have a 3 loss winner who's ranked in the 20's by the end of the season. We will need help to get into the playoffs this year, that's for sure.

They've also only had 3 OL drafted since Dabo's been there.

Might have something to do with it.

If you run the table from here on out ,Clemson will have a legit shot of making it again . I could see OU losing 2 games ..I think Ohio St will lose at least one game . May see a Cincinnati sneak in this yr .
