Sunshine played. He was 5/9 for 103 yards and a TD. He needed a miracle catch otherwise he would have only had about 50 yards. Bryant was better against us because he could extend plays.

Yes that was his first major action as a true freshman against a D1 opponent. It took him a couple games to get dialed in.

Sounds like an excuse. Good thing Dabo strung Bryant along otherwise you would have taken your L like you should have anyway if not for a controversial call (channeling my inner Lsu voice here).

No it is just stating a fact that basing your expectation for this game based on his performance against your team last year when it was his first game against a D1 opponent (and one where he didn't start) would be foolish.
If Dabo wanted to string Bryant along he would have named him the starter for his fifth game, thus taking away his chance at a redshirt. He basically gifted him another year of eligibility by telling him when he did.

I don't give Sunshine all that much credit vs Alabama. He threw up a lot of 50-50 balls , and some of them were not all that great.
The credit should go to their receivers, who had great nights all around. They went and got those balls, and some of them were not easy catches at all.
