How many SEC teams would go undefeated with this schedule? Yes there is a trip to ND but I would rather go to SB than Bama, Florida, Auburn, Georgia, etal. Terrible. Someone from the ACC needs to step up.

Florida, LSU, Auburn, Georgia, Alabama, A&M all are going 12-0 or 11-1.

The only challenge on that schedule is ND.

LSU, Bama, Auburn, Florida.
Georgia would lose to South Carolina.

They are now an every year automatic in the playoff.
Only 2 challenging regular season games, Nortre Dame & they'll play flat till the 4th quarter vs 1 of the other weak ACC teams, probably pulling it out on a missed FG or botched 2 point conversion.

One of these is not like the other. I'll let you take a guess which one.

UCF and Memphis have harder schedules than that bowl schitt

Yup. That's why I absolutely think there needs to be a penalty applied to top teams when it comes to scheduling.
1) The CFP committee needs to finally decide on Conference Championships. Either they matter completely and count towards CFP seeding and SOS, or they don't matter at all.
2) When deciding the top 4, SOS needs to be given substantially more weight. If you're in consideration at the end of the season for a playoff berth, and you don't have a top 25 SOS, that should add a loss to your resume. If you don't have a top 50 SOS, that should add an additional loss to your resume.
You can't be the best unless you're playing the best. Taking the express elevator to the top and beating the only decent team on your schedule shouldn't be rewarded.

That's how texas did it in the old SWC.
They rarely were able to seal the deal with a natty.
Kind of like okie these days, but their schedule is tougher than clemson's.
At least clemson has performed well in championship games.

This is why I’ve been suggesting playing the bowl season earlier and before selection - sort of like the BCS era. Teams like Clemson would be exposed when their best wins lose in bowl matchups. The bowl games themselves would just be extra data points for the committee to consider. Likewise if a team that has a questionable schedule can pull off a big win it helps them.
There are just too many big-name teams that always have questionable schedules: Clemson, ND, Okla, etc. In a way, it’s almost cheap because hard fought games throughout the season can lead to injuries and fatigue. (For example it’s difficult to beat even a middle-of-the-pack team right after you play teams like LSU and Alabama)
If you do not play a worthy schedule, you shouldn’t go to the playoff, and conferences should be responsible for supporting all of their programs to ensure they can make for good competition.

Case in point:
Memphis played a tougher regular season schedule than Clemson.
MEMPHIS.

Found a Site that claims that it builds its rankings off of an aggregate ranking from other sites. It doesn't LIST those sites (and somehow these aggregate sites have OSU number #1 with an average ranking of 1.8, LSU #2 with an average ranking of #2 - which means that for every #1 ranking, there's a #3, or such for LSU - I can only imagine a lot of sites did not bother with post-playoff rankings to account for it).
Anyway, an interesting method of doing SOS was, because they rank every team, is an average rank of all opponents. This includes post season foes.
So, for example:
South Carolina had the hardest SOS, facing an average ranking for their opponents of 36.83.
Auburn was second, with an average ranking of 41.10.
Playoff teams were (this includes their playoff games):
#4 SOS Ohio State (42.09)
#10 SOS LSU (44.67)
#12 SOS Oklahoma (46.23)
#51 SOS Clemson (59.08)
The nice thing about this methodology is that we can see where the teams would stack up without their postseason boosts. Clemson obviously benefited the most from these bumps:
Clemson pre-playoff: 67.9 (69th equivalent SOS)
Clemson pre-ACC title game: 70.4 (71st equivalent SOS)
Prior to the postseason, Clemson's SOS was below the following G5 teams that failed to make the postseason:
Connecticut
USF
Others that had tougher regular season schedules:
Utah State
Memphis
Cincinnati
BYU
Which means that if Memphis had won their game against Temple mid-season, they would have had a better resume than Clemson.

Who cares, let them play a shitty schedule, and then get their arse kicked in the playoffs or Natty. It’s much better to see their fan base cry this way.

The fact is playing an SEC schedule a team is playing more NFL talent than any conference in the country. Clemson has the luxury of playing in the weakest big 5 conference in the country. Therefore with their elite SEC type talent going against teams that have very little future NFL talent they enter the playoffs relatively healthy.

Yep, that’s the biggest advantage they have with that patsy schedule. Our teams obliterate each other during the season.

I didn’t say A&M was like the rest as far as football programs go but next years team they have should be more than good enough for 11-1 with Clemsons schedule
