I guarantee you the rival fans that say they are treated badly are looking for it in some way.
Hell I had an Auburn friend tell me the story of him attending a game in BDS a few years back when we were heavily favored(08 I think).
He goes on to tell me that everyone was an a-hole to him on campus. I ask how were they an a-hole. He says no one greeted him and welcomed him to Tuscaloosa/come up to him to offer him food at their tailgate., etc.
He didn't see any verbal fights/no blatant crime. Nothing.
Again anybody can complain about a sunny day if they really wanted too.

Alabama has a much larger fan base than Auburn. More of everything. The height of classiness likely belongs to Alabama, and probbly the other end of the spectrum also.

I agree. Which is why we usually recognize what is "classy" by contrast to what is not classy. It is hard to say that the classiest Alabama fans are classier than the classiest Auburn fans because neither are "not classy."

How about this? The top 2% of the Alabama fan base is probably wealthier than Auburn's top 2%.

That may or may not be the case -- I have no clue. Both schools have their share of super rich alumni. But I don't think being a classy fanbase has anything to do with money. My references to Glenlivet and Rolls Royces were mostly sarcastic.

I'm not against this, although I think this gap, if it still exists, is narrowing quickly. On the other end, I think Alabama has a huge number of batshit crazy fans will little association with UA, something Auburn has relatively few of.

Sooooo accurate. One of my biggest pet peeves is the overuse of this word as it applies to college football. The most humorous is the pretentious douche talking about the lack of class of someone who is perceived to not be well off. Somehow this person has never learned the lesson that humility is one of the most admirable traits a man could possess.

That's merely an arbitrary assumption you've made.Wealth is equivocal. This is another assumption but I bet a lot of Alabama money isn't really made from graduates as opposed to money that was already there. Auburn to me would be reversed based on their academic track record. Which probably explains if that theory/assumption was actually true and not a sarcastic remark in nature.
