I didn't have a huge problem with it. It was a bad tackle but not malicious. One of those tackles they should know better. Didn't grant a suspension, but deserved some sort of punishment to make him and others think twice about tackling like that.

It was ugly ugly. He should have been flagged. And he certainly should have a crappy few weeks.

I don't think people should be called thugs or classless until after they show a pattern of behavior, and until that happens, it's ridiculous to assume that it was anything sinister. People get carried away and make mistakes.

Everyone has done something that you don't realize until after you did it that you could have killed yourself or someone else.

You might want to watch the play again. He had the guy in a bear hug from behind. He could have easily put him on the ground.

Surely you've been wrapped up in adrenaline at some point in your life where the moment made you do something you knew you shouldn't.

It doesn't mean it's intentional. There is a difference between intentionality and a lack of discipline or thought.

Suspended by Alabama or the SEC? What if Alabama suspends him and doesn't say anything publicly?

If he isn't then I'm going to flip shite. So should Ross Bjork and Freeze. If an Ole Miss player had done that there would have been an official announcement from the SEC after the game suspending our player for multiple games then charges would have been filed and our player would go to jail for 10 years.

Then the NCAA would give us the death penalty for condoning such acts of aggression.

Well was Ole Miss going to suspend him anyway? What if Alabama keeps him from playing anyway? Why does the SEC need to come in and say something if they think it's being handled?

We weren't going to suspend Elson because it wasn't needed. He didn't lead with his helmet. It was a clean hit. It was just a knee jerk reaction by the SEC to make it look like they are interested in the well being of the players.

Yes. The SEC needs to make an official announcement saying if Alabama doesn't suspend him then they will.

It's all about precedent. This suplex-type move could have broken the guys neck. WAY unnecessary. Swearinger's hit looked much more accidental than this. Players shouldn't be suspended only if the other player is hurt as a result of their selfish hits. They should be suspended because of intent.

But they know Coach Saban will. He's the most revered disciplinarian in modern sports.

Freeze should have had Elston apologize. Besides the fact that its the classy thing to do, it shows contrition and reassures Slive that they have the situation under control. I'm sure next time, he'll follow Coach Saban's lead. A little of that inexperience showing here.

That was not Saban. Few people know this, but the Bio-engineers in Tuscalusa have created a Saban clone, identical in all respects, to the Monst...err, uhm man himself.

The only difference is the compassion chip placed strategically in the Sabaclone's motherboard, thus allowing The real coach to avoid attempting the impossible, that is to show, actual kindness or sensitivity.
