I’ve heard a lot of LSU fans argue that if Pete got to play with girls too, it would have been at least 200 points higher

Dale Brown has said that he reviewed game shot charts for every game Pete played & imposing the 3 point line on those charts he came up with Pete averaging 53 points a game. For those 3 years. Now do the math & see just how short Clark comes up. Too, Clark 's teams won 20+ games by over 30 points. Pete's record is against SEC-level defenses for the most part. As a fan of hers.....my mother was second team All American back in the late 30's....it's a shame that as great as she is, this kind of stupid argument makes her seem somewhat of a lesser player.

I think this is just a big deal to LSU fans, as if it really matters. Didn’t genders and sports. Just that now, a girl was able to dominate the girls side as well as Pete. I’ve seen some dumb arse shite posted like, “if she played with men she couldn’t break it” lol like wtf

No one cares about her scoring record. No one.

I saw the highlights of her big night tonight against Minnesota. She was being chased all game by a slow, chunky white girl and barely had a shot contested.

Her and Pete played two very different sports.

I feel like college basketball stars on the womens side are more famous and get more viewers than WNBA games. With NIL, probably more than a WNBA salary. So I can hate. She should be cashing out as much as she can.

Had no idea she participated in men’s basketball.

Amazing. History will remember her as the greatest scorer of all time.

I’m sure fans of a women’s basketball school — which places equal weight on such — can especially appreciate the significance.

A girls HS basketball game in Alabama a couple of days ago was 41-0 at halftime. Apples to Oranges…..Pete was better.

Added to the list of "dumbest shite said in 2024". And you have no way of supporting your statement.

People don't like it because it's womens bb, but girl can ball. The female Larry Bird.

Pete is still the all time scorer in men’s basketball, just like UCLA has the longest winning streak in men’s basketball. I remember when UConn women’s made their run and “passed” UCLA. Apples to Oranges.

Saw this on twitter a month ago. Tim Bourret:
quote:

Much will be made of Caitlan Clark soon breaking Pete Maravich career scoring record (3667). If she does it in her 130th career game (current pace), she will have played 47 more games than Maravich. If Maravich played 130 games at his 44.2 PPG he would have scored 5744.

That with no shot clock or 3 point line.

To be fair, if there was a 3 point line, maybe he scores a lot less points because the other team would come further out to guard him since the shot would be worth an extra point….and maybe if there was a shot clock, he would’ve rushed a lot more of his shots….

Look, these 2 players should not be compared, but to try and say what would’ve been if rules were added to Pete’s stats is just stupid too

Yeah it sure has slowed down sharp shooters like Steph Curry.

Caitlyn Clark is just as good of a comparison to Ben Simmons as she is to Pistol Pete.

I will defend Pistol Pete all day.
