They have some serious depth issues

Because it would be a little embarrassing for your team to get beat by a team with that many true freshman playing and not know it before you start making excuses for losing.

Our depth isn't bad at all if you take into account how many players we lost. DT and RB have some big depth concerns, but other than that, we aren't too bad off.

Hopefully we won't have that problem again while this coaching staff is here. Luckly they sign balanced classes.

12-15 is a bunch, but not unheard of. Bama played 16 freshmen in 2008 and it didn't affect their record negatively. AU is playing youth for 3 reasons in my opinion:

1) necessity (they have more FR & RFR than any other class on campus)
2) building toward the future
3) those 12-15 are more talented than the upperclassmen at those positions (starter or backup)

I think AU is a 6-6 to 8-4 team this year so you might as well go young and build depth/experience for future. That's exactly what I'd want my team to do...to be honest I'd want to start Frazier if I was an AU fan. He'll take lumps early, but would be, essentially, a soph by "Amen Corner".

Auburn will be a 6-6 or 5-7 team depending on if they get a lucky bounce or two.

Didn't realize they played that many last season.

This is probably a first, but I agree with your post completely

What the hell, man? I'm the kind of Bama poster that doesn't flame AU too much. I talk trash for fun, and occasionally say things AU fans don't agree with, but I don't just rain hate on you guys all the time.

Only like 99% Kidding, you're one of the decent ones....but seriously, your post was spot on IMO. Hopefully this plan won't backfire on us horribly. I don't want us to become this year's Texas

Texas didn't suck b/c of lack of talent, they sucked b/c of dissension on the coaching staff. They almost completely turned their staff over except for Brown after the season b/c of the trouble they had during the year (not totally, but like 2/3 of the staff is new).

It would surprise me if AU had similar staff dissension. There are no warning signs of it. I would be shocked if AU had a losing record. Like I said, I think you guys are 6-6 to 8-4 depending on play of your o-line & QB.

Actually that's not true. AU will play more players on defense this year then they have in the past because they have more depth.

Depth is not the issue. Being a young team is. 54 out of the 105 man roster are true freshman or redshirt freshman.
