Venables has to be gone after he loses to (checks the list):

FLORIDA
OLE MISS
TAMU
MIZZOU

I only see two possible wins, but after two losses that team will quit on Venables and I just don't believe there'll be enough fight in the dog in them to win either of those.

OU will win next week

He’ll definitely lose to Ole Miss and Mizzou

A&M is a toss up

They aren't playing Sisters of Hail Mary Academy and they're playing an away game in Gainesville. OU has only won an away game at Mississippi State, everybody's favorite 'rent a win' this season in the SEC, so not an impressive win. Florida bounces back big this week and trashes OU, and Venables should officially be on the hot seat, then, if he isn't already. This team is not the team that should be expected to compete and get back into the CFP.

Those are all winnable games. I see 2-2 the rest of the way.

Florida historically

Plays a dud after the WLOCP. Even when we were good, in 1996 and 2006, we had struggle bus wins against bad Vandy teams.

Look at first week of Nov games the past 15 years, always terrible.

Florida lost to a 3 win Arky a few years ago after wlocp

I say we should have the bye after the Georgia game since we never win the wlocp there no point of having it before the game and putting it after prevents embarrassing losses like we’re going to have next week

OU wins 27-13

OU just got their shite royally pushed in on their home field. They're demoralized. They have to travel while being demoralized and questioning their team's coach and their own capabilities. I think they're at the event horizon for this season and if they don't pull it out this week, they don't win any remaining games this year.

Can Oklahoma even afford a 50 million buyout?

so are the gators

OU is having a bad year but made the playoffs last year and BV has shown something as a coach from time to time

Florida has none of that

Can he do that before the Christmas lights go up? Not sure if that's allowed.

Venables isn’t going anywhere. CFB playoff last year and they beat Texas.

He’ll be on the hot seat next year.

Ou is terrible. They would be extremely lucky to go 2-2. More likely 1-3

Aggy and Florida are awful this year

OU +4 is the easiest money this week as they will win by 10+

didn't he make the playoffs last year? Would they really can him for one bad year after making the playoffs?

The problem with firing Brent Venables is Oklahoma cannot afford a $50 million dollar hickey.

It might be okay for A&M to pay Jimbo $70 million but don't expect OU to have that kind of money to throw at former employee.

The Sooners will clean house at the end of the year meaning at a minimum the OC is gone.

Then we'll see what happens next.
