Your definition of 'best' is different than mine, and probably most of the cfb world besides Bama fans. Take Michigan and Ohio State....they could make an argument because both of them have more overall wins than Bama, right?
Heck, Princeton and Yale have more National Championships than Bama, should we declare THEM the best? Minnesota won three natties in a row, do they have an argument?
That all being said, you can't just look at the past and make some kind of declaration. Bama was once the best program, but now they're not. That might change if someone knocks us off the top, but in the words of the great Ric Flair, 'To be the man, you have to beat the man.' and uga is currently...the MAN.

Oh I’m sorry, you thought a good year made you the best program?
Um...Who wants to tell him?

Georgia is clearly the #2 program right now though.
Well we've spent the past 2 years taking a #2 on everyone's chest around here.
Did you type this with tears in your eyes knowing what's coming again in the Fall? t3-Peat is unstoppable.

This is literally the definition of what you are doing.
You take an overall body of work for multiple years to establish a program. No one in their right mind is saying a repeat and 2 natties overall is comparable to 6 natties in 12 seasons in recent history. It’s not like Bama is going 6-6. They are 37-4 the last 3 years with a natty. Georgia is 38-4. Bama has been the better overall program the last 6 years. You don’t judge a program off of 2 years.

Too bad a program isn’t established by 2 seasons. Bama is still #1 overall.

The best football PROGRAM still resides in Tuscaloosa.

Arkansas doesn't really favor any of the big three sports over the other.

Again, then we should crown Princeton the best program ever because they have more NCs than anyone.
A few years ago, before UGA we won a NC, we played Auburn and mopped the floor with them, 45-7 or something. An Auburn buddy of mine threw up to me that it was 1980 since our last NC and Auburn just won one of few years ago with Cam. I raised an eyebrow and asked him; "Is the fact that Auburn won a NC since our last one REALLY any consolation to you right now after what we did to you tonight?" He took a big sigh and said, "No...not really."
If Bama loses 3 games and gets beat by Auburn, your bitter rival next season, is Bama's last NC they won really gonna give you any comfort then too?
I'm proud of our recent accomplishments, but at the end of the day, what's important is winning. If we get knocked off our pedestal, we're not going to be content until we're back on top. That's why you and your Bama friends are in misery right now (whether you'll admit it or not) and you'll continue to suffer till Bama is back on top, admit it.
It's like a line from an old love song back in the 70's where the guy says to the girl; "How many came before it really doesn't matter, just as long as you're the last."
UGA is presently the best program in the country.
