He's the only guy of that caliber that would have accepted that job given the circumstances...and he did it because he loves Ole Miss. Of course, it was a good opportunity for him as well...but damn...you would think that he earned himself a couple of seasons out from under the shadow of the shite show Freeze left behind. Further, he wouldn't have been fired had he won the Egg Bowl, which likely would have happened had it not been for piss-gate...which was largely out of his control. Who exactly do you think you are going to get now, OM? Who is going to be falling all over themselves to take this job? Who the hell do you think you are that a hot coach is going to come to OM after how you just treated one of your own?

I think Luke did a decent job considering the circumstances. Ole Miss may end up regretting this decision.

I said months ago that Matt Luke is an embarrassment. Ole Miss did the right thing firing him.

I'm not worried about Ole Miss. I just think the fans are tone deaf to their program and should have given Luke more time.

Luke was a hot name in coaching circles before he took the Ole Miss job and, little known fact but, we were going to interview him up until Ole Miss offered him the job and everyone knew how loyal he was to Ole Miss.
Luke is not a bad coach and the guy can recruit when he is not under the cloud of probation.
