At any one time of the game, he was half Freshmen players. New Chancellor and new AD. Maybe they gave in to pressure too quickly but I think he deserved another year with a really short lease and see if he could do something with the youth.

So, not worried about OM "competing" any more

As long as they have their booster network in place, they're gonna be alright.

Treated one of our own...

A mediocre on his best day OL coach.

Who was here with Freeze for the "shite show". Conveniently left out of this arguement.

Who was responsible for finding a way to lose to every team with a pulse this year. (Won 4 games of which those teams had a combined record of 15-33, SELA accounting for 8 of those wins)

Who claims the 10th best recruiting class in the SEC currently. Let alone striking the frick out on one of the best defensive classes in the state in a long time last year.

Who has no defensive or offensive identity.

Who just stares at the jumbo-tron and is hardly seen talking to anyone on the sidelines.

What did we do?

Made him a very rich man... Excuse fricking us.

Luke was a hot name in coaching circles before he took the Ole Miss job and, little known fact but, we were going to interview him up until Ole Miss offered him the job and everyone knew how loyal he was to Ole Miss.

LOL, no. Luke was a shitty offensive line coach who the fans wanted fired before he ever got the head job. It was a DERP hire if there ever was one.

That said, he deserved more time. He was figuring it out and he had built a good staff. His team showed improvement week over week.

The reason they made the move in my opinion is two-fold:

- Many of their young skill players were looking to transfer. They didn't like RichRod's offense.

- Ole Miss saw an opportunity after MSU announced Moorhead was returning. They can pounce on a young up and comer and be in a stable position next year recruiting-wise when MSU is going through their inevitable coaching change.

I think it was a bit premature to be honest.

I remember thinking..."who the heck would want this job??". Not many...not hardly any. But he did. Freeze nuked your program and you're pissed because the one guy that would take the job doesn't have OM competing for the SEC? Realistic goals, stepping stones, might be helpful in landing and retaining the next coach.

Btw, if you have any motivated and wealthy alums that want to fix the program, Chris Peterson is stepping down from Washington. Here's looking at you, John Grisham. You'd have to make Peterson the highest paid coach in college football to come to Oxford...but he'd right the ship
