I assume by this you mean all tickets haven't been purchased from the re-sellers?

How does the original sale work? Of course, I assume each school is allotted a certain number of tickets, but does the general public at any point have an opportunity to buy directly from the organizers?

If so, does anyone know the range of the original face prices?

In other news I found a facebook ad.

110,000 for 65 acres of hunting land with plenty of hard wood.

Hunting land or some dumb game involving paid spoiled brats???

It’s apparent that they do not want true die hard, working class football fans attending these type of events.

Nothing will likely ever top 2010 when Auburn took on Oregon… LINK

The get-in price was $3899, which in today’s dollars, thanks to inflation, would be the equivalent of $5,437.

It’s considered possibly the most expensive average ticket in the history of sports. I know people who dropped 10 grand for that game.

There was no way OSU would get outworked by Mizzou in regards to Daman Wilson.

OSU coaches are busy getting ready for the national title game, so it would make sense if they got outworked for a recruit who Mizzou paid a massive buyout on

I think maybe they just want money. The price determines how die hard you are.

That game had a perfect storm of factors at play to create those inflated prices. The stadium was much smaller than usual. Also, there were an inordinate number of short-sellers on Stubhub that got burned pretty badly when the supply dried up. Stubhub had to shutdown the market temporarily and offered buyers that already had their tickets 3x what they paid for them to fill some of the short sales. When the market reopened, get-ins went from just over $1000 to over $3000 a ticket.

There were stories of ticket brokers showing up at people’s houses who had committed to selling to them once the tickets arrived. The people were met with serious threats when they couldn’t deliver.

The whole thing was absolutely nuts.

I all-in SEC now. And I would watch if there were an SEC team, Texas or not. But I have no interest in burning my personal time watching a couple of yank schools.

Upper deck in the Notre Dame section face was $450. Best seats in the lower bowl were either ~$800 or ~$1600 depending on the seat.

Upper deck is going for ~4 - 5X face right now. Lower bowl is going for about 3 - 4X face right now.

That was for a ticket on the 50, not get-in. Average was closer to $1,100.

How long can one wait to buy?

Expiry is close to kickoff.

If one was able to hang out and wait until late, what price could you get into MB stadium?

Um, no. Read them damn article that was linked.

quote:

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - With the Oregon and Auburn football teams five days from playing in the BCS national championship game, ticket prices are skyrocketing to unprecedented heights. On Wednesday afternoon, asking prices on resale site StubHub.com started at $3,899 and climbed to $15,995 for a seat on the 50-yard line. On Zigabid, a price-negotiating site based in Southern California, tickets were selling for about $5,000 apeice, founder Dan Rubendall said.

Vandyrone described the situation exactly as it was up above… it was a complete nightmare. StubHub shut down all ticket sales to the game just a couple days before because their top brokers were not able to fulfill their obligations, and fans were literally turning down buy-back offers from StubHub that were 3x what they had paid.
